I used this company to provide us a swamp tour in my most recent visit to New Orleans on 6/20/2015.
I called the morning of my reservation to ask how to pay for the transportation fee and was told the driver would collect it. I also received a follow up text message instructing me to pay the driver AFTER the tour.
We were waiting outside, in front of the hotel as we were told. I see the James & James bus approaching and we move to the curb only to see the bus drive pass the hotel. It luckily hit a red light and were able to catch it after running after it. The bus driver joked that he kept driving because there was no where to park. I truly don't believe he had any intention on making that stop.
While on tour I began receiving messages signed "James" stating I did not pay the transportation fee and "What was I going to do about that". I replied that I was told to pay after the tour by the driver. And from there the messages got worse. I was called a liar, a cheater, told that if I needed the money to keep it. I had never experienced this kind of treatment by a company, especially in such a welcoming city like New Orleans.
I asked others on the tour and no one was receiving these harassing texts. As soon as the tour was over I looked for the driver and paid him and asked him why I am getting insulted when he specifically said after the tour. He had no idea.
On the way back, a large group asked him to be dropped off at a passing restaurant and he obliged. Then went a block down and told the remaining people that this was the last stop.
Where were we? I don't know. Certainly not back our hotel which is where we understood we get dropped off at.
I messaged back James as well as called him back twice. No answer. I received a reply a couple hours late stating he had sent those messages to the wrong number and that they were meant for another customer on a previous tour, along with an apology. We chased the bus, got dropped off at a random location because the driver felt like it, harassed, called names, and yet that didn’t merit a phone call.
Instead of taking so much time and energy instead insulting customers who don’t pay the transportation, it should be collected as people board.
Terrible experience.
