To Whom It May Concern, I am a specialist contracted through CareOregon providing hair removal services medically necessary prior to sexual reassignment surgery. I am a member of the Transgender Health Program Committee and attend OHP Task Force meetings, both of which strive...
towards obtaining better transgender services universally. [redacted] started receiving pre-surgical permanent hair removal services from me in June of 2016. During the consultations I have with potential clients, Ms. [redacted] being no exception, I inform them that hair removal is dependent on many key factors including frequency of visits, the length of each visit, a s well as the density of hair in the desired treatment area. Ms. [redacted] visits were very infrequent, contributing to prolonged treatment. On December 29, 2016, I sent an email to Dr. Da niel D[redacted], her SRS surgeon, detailing her start date with me and that she is ready to be scheduled for surgery. Confirmation of the sending of the aforementioned email can be provided at any time. During Ms. [redacted] following visit, I informed her of the email I sent to Dr. D[redacted] office and advised her to wait for the OHSU Urology Clinic to reach out to her for further instruction.' I then received excessive amounts of aggressive, threatening, and inappropriate text messages from Ms. [redacted], accusing me of not sending the requested information to her surgeon's office. After continual harassment, I decided to place a call to CareOregon inquiring about the process of terminating a client. They informed me that reporting the harassment I had received from Ms. [redacted] to the CareOregon Grievance Department was grounds for termination of services and that I had followed all the required guidelines in terms of terminating a client. After terminating Ms. [redacted] as a client, I researched other potential electrolysis specialists and informed her that the best option would be to contact the Trans Health Program Coordinator at OHSU. There, she would be able to be put in contact with other electrolysis specialists who are contracted through insurance companies, further continuing the hair removal process and ultimately reaching the end result she desires.
