Review: Was never told about cancellation policy yet was charged anyway under very unreasonable circumstances.
It's no wonder this company ([redacted] and [redacted], and [redacted] has an F on Revdex.com and terrible reviews on Yelp. Sadly I made the mistake on giving them my credit card number. If I had known this ahead of time, I never would have. I have made many reservations and this has never happened before. Most hotels are very understanding and work with you. These people only care about getting your money and will lie to get it.
I made a reservation en-route to the hotel about an hour north of Mount Shasta. Cell reception was very spotty, which I explained to [redacted] the receptionist. It was a very quick call.
In my rush to reserve a room, I forgot to ask about a fridge. I called back 4 minutes later to ask if the room had one. She said no but she would try to find one and would call me back.
Meanwhile, I called another hotel that had a fridge. I waited 15 minutes but still no call from Francey. I called her back but she didn't know about the fridge yet.
I explained again we were en-route with bad reception and that another hotel had one and asked to cancel my room. She informed me I would be charged for the full price of the room. I told her that was ridiculous. She said that was their policy. I asked her why she didn't tell me that when I called the first time and she said she did.
It's very simple. [redacted] lied. She knows she lied and tried to cover her mistake or that is how this business operates by not telling the customer their policy. Regardless, knowing someone is driving with bad reception and trying to make a last minute reservation is more than enough for most hotels to understand cancelling a reservation within minutes of making one is not grounds for a full night room charge.
The policy is meant to protect them from blatant, last minute cancellations, not prey on unsuspecting motorists trying to find a room for the night. It's a horrible application of the policy and their reviews clearly, without a doubt, prove it. [redacted] and [redacted] should be ashamed of themselves and I will do whatever it takes to get my money back.Desired Settlement: I want my money back. They stole from me by lying and owe me $119.90.
