Review: Falsely billed four application fees of $150 each (totaling $600) even though the property company that Urban Compass represented, Westminster Realty, had no plan to actually consider our application. Urban compass, specifically [redacted], told us that we could submit an application for a move in date of September [redacted] and that a massive scratch on the floor would be fixed. We were also lied to about the duration that the apartment had been on the market and that there were no other apartments listed in that building (also a lie). At the lease signing on September [redacted], the lease was written to start on the [redacted] even though our application clearly stated the lease to start on September [redacted]. The company expected us to pay for days that we did not even have keys to the apartment. We were also told that the scratch would not be fixed even though the real estate agent said that it would be. We were blatantly misled every step of the way through the process. Furthermore at the lease signing at Westminster Realty's office we were yelled at, berated and bullied into signing the lease by three men. We ended walking out of the lease signing agreement and not signing the lease, however, we were still billed for application fees. We would have NEVER applied if we had not been misled about the stipulations of the lease. Additionally, numerous people from Westminister and Urban compass continued to call and bully us into signing the lease even after we expressed we would not do anymore business with them.Desired Settlement: Refund the $600 in application fees that were taken from us unethically. The actions of Urban Compass and Westminister were misleading and fraudulent.

Response:
[redacted], who filed Revdex.com Complaint [redacted] signed forms authorizing a $150 non-refundable fee per applicant (available upon request). Per the Landlord's policy, the $150 application fees (totaling $600) are not refundable and could not be returned. [redacted] did also submit a 1 month deposit for $3300 which was refunded once she backed out of the deal.
In regards to the start date, [redacted] was approved for her apartment on September [redacted] and was scheduled to sign leases on September [redacted] at 3PM with a September [redacted] start date. The client rescheduled the lease signing for September [redacted], again rescheduled for September [redacted] and finally rescheduled for September [redacted]. With this, the lease terms remained with a September [redacted] start date. With respect to the floors, no Urban Compass employee told [redacted] that the floors would be replaced. After [redacted] backed out of the deal, [redacted] was offered a new start date of September [redacted] and the Landlord agreed to repair/cover the floor scratch. [redacted] refused this offer.
Furthermore, [redacted] was represented by a licensed salesperson from a different brokerage firm. To date, the co-broker has apologized on behalf of her clients numerous times for the way they conducted their business with Urban Compass and the Landlord. Finally, [redacted] is not paid on commission and Urban Compass does not make money on the application fees as the full fee is sent directly to the Landlord.
