[redacted] & [redacted] Virginia Beach, VA XXXXX Turtle Rock Construction Shakespeare Ct Virginia Beach, VA XXXXX With the utmost earnestness and sincerity we would like to say THANK YOU for the unmatched dedication and professionalism you displayed in your construction of our new screenporch addition to our home After having undergone two major construction projects on our home in the past seven years, both of which left us with a lingering disdain because of the unscrupulous prime contractors involved, your TURTLE TEAM is PHENOMINAL! Without hesitation or reservation, please solicit this endorsement to serve as a reference to your future clients and customers We would be honored to allow you to show our completed dream project to your potential customers because we're profoundly appreciative of the expertise and artistry you put into your work I am a year retired naval officer, my word is my bond and I rarely provide written praise to individuals let alone corporations We would be hard pressed to find a comparable construction firm with the same attributes we observed in your company and crew Your turtles exuded an unending propensity to put forth that extra effort to create a "Can Do Attitude and Atmosphere!" After interviewing two contractors early on we felt that we were heading down the same Contractor Rabbit Hole we went down before They talked in generalities and left us always saying to each other "I just don't get a warm and fuzzy." Then a neighbor introduced us to Tommy [redacted] of Turtle Rock and after our initial meeting we knew then that we had found the company to construct this project Tommy came back a week later, not with a song and dance but with a well-conceived plan to include a schedule, a permit list, an owner responsibility breakdown, a Chesapeake Bay Policy explanation and most importantly a price that we deemed fair and acceptable; where do we sign, pass the pen The foundation was readied and the concrete was poured The block and brick work was a little delayed at the start due to a sub-contractor tardiness but Tommy shifted gears and found Paul [redacted] to perform the work and it was flawless The frame went up, the decking boards were laid and the roof was fabricated, shingles applied, electrical roughed in, soffits trimmed out, vinyl sheeting, fans hung, screens put in place, gutters hung, worksite cleaned up and in the end we stood aghast, IT WAS OUTSTANDING The workmanship on this project was Herculean and the attention to detail was unbelievable But it was the non-construction work that literally "Blew us Away." When the roof was covered with a tarpaulin and awaiting shingles an epic rainfall fell one evening of biblical proportions It was Tommy that showed up in the driving rain making sure the site was dry and secure Whenever we asked Tommy to "take a look at this or take a look at that" he was on it At times we felt that talking to Tommy was like talking to Honest Abe Lincoln it was just too good to be true, BUT IT WAS Due credit must go to the turtles, they stuck their heads out of their shells and "Went to Work." They needed no direction or guidance and we definitely knew that this wasn't their first rodeo The turtles were also always willing to stop their work and talk to us about the project, always had a welcoming Good Morning or Afternoon and were proud to show off their work, and they should be proud, because it was perfect Tommy, you jokingly called me Captain during the project, I wish my wife would call me that, but in the Navy there is one rank that is senior to a Captain and that is an Admiral You Tommy, are that Admiral and its quite evident that you command excellence from your Turtle Fleet We have another term in the Navy which is "BRAVO ZULU" and that means "Well Done." You sir, and your crew, warrant a hearty Bravo Zulu for making this project a memorab

April 18, Virginia Beach, VA
We needed a deck builder to completely tear down and replace a sq ft deck We wanted one that was highly rated, had been in business for several years, and was complaint free We narrowed our search to two contractors, and after initial meetings and receipt of proposals, chose Turtle Rock based largely their length of operations, the rating, and complaint record (none) contained on the Revdex.com website Equally important was the initial interview with Turtle Rock's owner Tommy *** He was easy to talk to about details, methodology, and readily listened to, discussed and accommodated our preferences for some aspects of construction He responded later that day with his proposal and estimate After discussing/clarifying the construction details, we accepted This was followed quickly with a projected start date, certification of his insurances, and a copy of the Building Permit that he had obtained With our agreement, construction actually started earlier than the projected date, and was completed within the specified time period, less a day lost to weather
They handled the teardown of the old deck, and removal of all materials and debris Throughout the construction of the new deck, there were daily communications with us to keep us fully aware of how they were progressing, what was next, and when His crew (they are employees not sub-contractors) is very skilled, professional, well experienced, friendly, cooperative and have been with Turtle Rock for several years They showed up as scheduled every day at the appointed time, and wound up each day at a scheduled time including an end-of-day site clean up each day "Tommy" was on site at some point each day, often for a good part of each day, and frequently part of the work crew He patiently answered questions by this inquisitive owner, and throughout, seemed more a close friend than a businessman The quality control was superb throughout, in every detail, and the finished deck is a perfect example of doing things the right way, the way any true professional would strive for and Tommy and his crew are just that In short, a thoroughly professional, high quality, well built accomplishment
Over the years we have had a few various projects large and small Without a doubt, one of the very best experiences we have ever had with a contractor was with Tommy ***, and his Turtle Rock Construction We would highly recommend them without reservation of hesitation to anyone., and we would readily contract with him again for any construction or repairs within the scope of what his company undertakes
