Affordable Remodeling Designs is currently having issues with the Corpus Christi subcontractors The cabinet maker has fallen way behind schedule and we are waiting on him to install cabinets so that we continue with the tile installation around the cabinets, the counter tops and finish out We are currently working on resolving the issue so that the rest of the job can be completed

Mrand Mrs*** are currently in breach of contract They went around Affordable Remodeling Designs and hired our subcontractor directly to install their counter top Our contract specifically states that homeowners are not authorized to hire our subcontractors directly and if they
do so they are then in breach of contract The Tiller's waited till the job was about 90% complete before going around Affordable Remodeling Designs to hire our subcontractor directly with the intentions of saving money This breach of contract dictates that at that point the full balance of contract becomes due immediately In addition, payments for our jobs are staggered in order to keep the job moving along For example: if a payment is due at the completion of the tile, that doesn't mean it's paying for the tile specifically, it is simply a payment to keep making progress on the job itself Regarding the Tiller's, at the time of selecting the quartz counter top a payment was received, but that payment is not designated as the funds to pay for the quartzIt was simply the payment to keep job moving and it just happened to be collected at the time of the selection Shortly there after Mr& Mrs*** took it upon themselves to break contract and hire our subcontractor directly to complete the work with out us The Tiller's at this time have a remaining balance with us of approximately $10,

I am rejecting this response because: After reading some of the other responses from Mr. [redacted] on other complaints, I knew he would put another "spin" on how things happened. He was in breach of his contract with us after going way, way over the number of days he had for completion and for completing stopping all work being done. He was FIRED and then we went and hire our tile person to complete the job for US not him. The tile company said they were never doing business with Mr. [redacted] again anyway because of getting complaints from other clients. Our contract clearly states $3,000. was for Quartz downpayment in May 2016 and it didn't. Mr. [redacted] was paid in full for all cabinet work and he still hasn't delivered our 2 glass doors, so he owes us for that also. He doesn't answer emails, phone, text, etc. Why else would a businessman not answer customers calls--other then he's hiding from them. This man and company is not a trustworthy company and does not deserve a A rating from the Revdex.com. I hope people will look on Facebook, Google, Houzz and other sites to see what past customers are saying about Mr. [redacted].

I am rejecting this response because: I have tried repeatedly to contact Mr. [redacted] and he has failed to answer my calls or respond to my messages.  This is the first that I am hearing of the subcontractors issues regarding the cabinets. At  this time Mr. [redacted] and Affordable Remodeling Design are in breech of our agreed contract. And I feel as a business he should get back with me personally to inform me of said issues.  As a business owner he should find a new contractor so that his customers are not inconvenienced any further than has to be, this job should have been completed in approximately 8 weeks and it has exceeded time.

In response to "little to no work being done"  Old patio cover has been demoed, 472 square ft. of concrete with rebar has been approved by structural engineer and poured.  Entire electrical rough in completed including adding new electrical panel to house with approved inspection just...

waiting on finish out.  Entire frame of addition has been built. Roof has been shingled.  When City inspector came out to approve framing rough in they had a question on the way brick was supported, so I had structural engineer come out and approve.  City ask engineer to take a second look. After changes engineer approved again, but city ask to have it done differently.  Since the time of homeowners making statement to Revdex.com the project has started moving forward again.  Weather has played a factor in delay, however the big delay is going back and forth between inspectors and engineer.  Most engineers being real busy it sometimes takes a week or longer to come out and inspect.  After that another 3 or 4 days to type up letter.  Another 5 days after letter is turned in for it to show on cities records.  Each go between inspector and engineer could take 3 or 4 weeks.  Affordable Remodeling Designs has never gone months not calling back a job that we are currently working on.  Affordable Remodeling Designs does understand the aggravation the homeowner is going threw.  This job has taken longer than the normal job, because of going back and forth with inspectors and engineer.  At no point has Affordable Remodeling Designs abandon the job.

To [redacted],     This particular job has 4 addendums that were added on to the job.  1. remove cabinets by fireplace and make arches, 2. change job from 1 wall paint and 1 ceiling paint color to a total of 10 different colors, 3. add chair rails to part of the house,...

4. add shelves by fireplace.  Every addendum as per contract adds a minimum of 2 weeks to the job.  4 addendums adds a minimum of 8 weeks to the job.  We also had to stop for 2 weeks because of there floor crew.  10 week for substantially completed time, 8 weeks worth of addendums 2 weeks delay for there floor installer is 20 weeks for substantial completion.  Day 1 was May 4th which puts us September 21st.  Cabinets were installed for granite on August 18, Mr [redacted] did not want to release the full draw of $4,000 he wanted to give me a partial payment.  They bought $12,600 worth of Cabinets.   I informed him that if I did not receive full payment the job would come to a stop until I did.  Payment was finally made on September 14th, job has now resumed.  All draws are to keep job going the only draw that is upon completion is the final.  First 3 financial draws were on time but after that have not been on time, some have even been broken into multiple payments, some reasons being that Mr [redacted] went out of town, other reasons being that they lost there credit card, never the less from 4th payment on payments have been delayed on homeowners behalf.  My crew and myself have received numerous compliments on how happy they were and how they saw what her parents went threw and were glad they hired us, but the day before a payment was due the complaints would start again.  The only thing left at this point is install sink fixture, put up backsplash and do final walk threw in kitchen.  My fear is after it is all done I will have trouble collecting final payment of $3,000 just as I have on numerous of the payments in this job.   Thank You,[redacted]
