On 8/16/15 I received a call regarding the property at [redacted] that was for sale.  The woman that called wanted to know what it would take and how much it would cost to install a county approved septic system on the lot. I contacted [redacted] to...

find out what the requirements were. I was informed that the property had a new septic tank and needed 210’ of drain field installed. I sent the woman an estimate for installing only 210’ worth of drain lines on the property. I let her know that until I went up to the property and shot the elevations and staked out the system, I cannot give an accurate estimate. I sent the same estimate to several potential buyers for next six months. In February of 2016 I was called by [redacted] about the same property and filled her in on everything I knew. I met [redacted] onsite and discussed with her what steps would be needed to get the system approved for a permit. Linn County gave me a plot plan with the approved drainfield area so we could lay it out. My crew went up and staked out the system, I did all of the engineering and paperwork required for the permit and turned it in. [redacted] had to fill out an easement, covenant and servitude form, have it notarized and turn it in to the county. A few weeks after my paperwork and application was in, [redacted] called to check up on the status of the permit but I had not heard from the county. I called the county the same day and asked what the hold up was, they informed me that [redacted] never turned in the easement, covenant and servitude form. I called [redacted] and let her know she had to turn it in she told me the county lost it so I sent her a new one. Once she turned the form in, I explained to her the price would be higher than expected because of the elevation difference. We would have to put a pump in the tank with filters, floats, a control panel and hire an electrician to wire it. [redacted] was unhappy about the price increase but knew from the beginning that I could not give an accurate estimate without doing the layout onsite. She seemed like she wanted to move forward so I let her know once we receive 50% we would put her on the schedule (like we do with all of our customers). As of today 08/31/16 I still have not received money down or any have heard from her so I just  assumed she found a different installer to perform the work. All of my drawings were approved and the permit was issued on 06/14/16. I would have hoped that she would have brought this to my attention when she thought there was an issue and I would have made it my top priority to get it resolved.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention, we work very hard to maintain customer satisfaction while doing a great job at an affordable rate.
Have a great day and feel free to call if you have any questions.
