August 31, To: Revdex.com of Eastern MA, ME, RI, & VT Donald Lynch Blvd, Suite Marlborough, MA 01752- Re: Complaint # [redacted] Dear Sir/Madam: I write in response to Complaint # [redacted] , Scott Roofing Services by our customer Mr [redacted] This roof was installed in February I would note that Mr [redacted] was very pleased with our workmanship on the roof that he bragged about the roof to his neighbor who also purchased a roof from our company The first complaint we received from Mr [redacted] was in June 07, We take customer satisfaction as our best advertising and want happy customers To that end, we have reached out to Mr [redacted] on numerous occasions to remedy this matter We have contacted the manufacturer, [redacted] , and have a response from their Chief Engineer, [redacted] that roof looks great elsewhere and recommends for us to replace just the area where customer has complained about which is photo number The design is what is complained of, not the manner in which the roof was installed As stated on the letter form Mr***, the 2/then 1/pattern is only a suggested guide by the manufacturer and does not mean that all installers must follow this patternInstallers can choose other methods of staggering as long as it looks aesthetically goodMr [redacted] believes that this is the only way the roof should be staggered during installationMr [redacted] disagrees and has asked us to do entire roof over and he also stated that he would like a different contractor to go out and fix the roofWe believe that no other area of the roof needs replacement other than area where contractor did not follow the pattern used on all other areas of the roofMr [redacted] is a valued customer and we feel deeply sorry for the inconvenience this has caused on his endHowever, we strongly believe that it is unfair of him to ask us to remove and redo sections of the roof that are done correctlySubcontractor who initially worked on Mr [redacted] ’s roof has agreed to go back out there and perform all necessary work to make customer happyWe make every attempt to make all our customers happy and provide the same excellent customer service we have provided for over yearsOur customer service and quality product has been a trademark since the beginning of the company and we intend to keep it this wayWe would like for Mr [redacted] to come to an agreement with us and allow us to only do the area that he initially had complained about on June 07, We understand and respect the decision that any Revdex.com representative makes and we also understand that a mediator is looking out not only for the best interest of our company but as well as the satisfaction and peacefulness of the customer Sincerely, [redacted] General Manager [redacted] CC: Customer: Don P [redacted] ***

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # [redacted] [ September 6, To:Revdex.com of Eastern MA, ME, RI, & VTDonald Lynch Blvd, Suite 102Marlborough, MA 01752-Re: Response to SR Services response to complaint # [redacted] Dear Sir/Madam,I write in response to Mr [redacted] s letter to the Revdex.com in part to correct major inaccuracies in his responseTo begin, his insinuation that expression of our concerns to SR Services began in June of this year is in errorOur earliest recorded concerns were voiced to Mr [redacted] on Febwhen $was withheld from a final payment because of a misunderstanding about the treatment of the guttersAs both parties had a hand in this matter he agreed to reinstall gutters for the cost of materialsThis was doneTwo weeks later I had a total hip replacement which put me out of commission for several weeksMy wife, [redacted] , was recovering from her own hip replacement procedure on January On April we contacted Mr [redacted] concerning the fact that SR Services had installed ridge caps rather than ridge vents and he agreed to check out this complaint in personAfter a series of SR Services cancellations he arrived on April Due to ordering errors on the part of [redacted] who sent the wrong color vent, on June 2-the ridge vents were finally installedWhen SR Services was done with that installation we were left with a broken ridge vent which is clearly visible in the picture that the Revdex.com has on record.During the interim of 4/and 6/my wife had repeatedly informed me that the roof looked wrong to herShe could see “rivers”, or irregular patterns in the layout of the panelsI assured her that this could not be the caseWhen I finally looked at the roof from the angle that she advised, I could see clearly that she was correctThis problem was pointed out to Mr [redacted] on 6/His position was that he could not see any irregularities in the installationHe assured us that he would look into it and all matters would be handled to our satisfactionHe also told me that SR Services wanted $for work done on the guttersIn a series of emails to Mr [redacted] we requested a clear response to our concernsSuch a response did not come.By June my suspicions about Mr [redacted] s plans prompted me to contact [redacted] ***, the chief engineer at [redacted] in Ottawa, CanadaBased on pictures that I sent to him of the same section of the roof he concluded that, “ on some of the rows the tiles are lined up with no staggering at allThis becomes a weak joint for future leakage”That day I emailed those pics to Mr [redacted] The next day he and [redacted] , a [redacted] rep, came for another inspectionI mentioned my email from Mr [redacted] and his warningMr [redacted] agreed that the problem should be addressedMr [redacted] again assured me that whatever needed to be done would be doneAt that time SR Services contacted Mr [redacted] whose conclusion was that the installer can use any pattern he likes as long as the pattern looks evenly staggered, which is not the case on any part of our roofMr [redacted] again inspected the roof and other installation problems on June 14, assuring me that he was working things out with “ [redacted] ”After many emails and one personal visit to SR Services office, on July we finally received an email from SR Services stating their current position which is to replace that one faulty section of roofOn August 1, I sent SR Services a formal complaint and rejection of their position by certified letter which, after failed attempts by the ***, was finally accepted on August We have tried to work through our issues with SR Services since February rather than since June Perhaps our medical issues are a poor excuse for being tardy with our formal complaints but it does not negate the basis of those complaints. It is an important point that SR Services’ decision to redo one section of the roof is based on the assessment of [redacted] ***His position was based on two sets of pictures, one sent by me and the other sent by SR ServicesMy pictures show the roof head on while those of SR Services show the roof at an oblique angleSR Services pictures do not show the un-staggered pattern which even SR Services agrees must be correctedI contend that if Mr [redacted] had hepictures of the entire roof his conclusion would apply to the entire installationMr [redacted] email to SR Services releases the installer to use any pattern he likes as long as the staggered appearance results in the intended design of a real shingle roof that will not leak, or as he puts it, “as long as it looks aesthetically good”SR Services missed that mark entirelyAny aberration from those instructions should have been approved by my wife and me rather than by SR ServicesI do have to ask, why not follow the manufacturer’s installation instructions? Does SR Services continue to use the unsettling pattern that is on our roof?As for SR Services reaching out to us on many occasions to settle this matter, that is a humorous distortion of factsCorrespondence with Mr [redacted] occurred because I hounded him with telephone calls and emailsHe held up appointments for days and, in at least one case, for over a weekThe tactic used on the [redacted] ’s was to make promises, in the most endearing manner, that our satisfaction is paramountMeanwhile, SR Services was working out the least costly retreat from their failure: a $25,failure.For now I have one last matter concerning the letter sent to the Revdex.com by Mr [redacted] He states that I bragged about the roof to my neighborThat is not only but insultingIt is true that my neighbors based their decision to use SR Services to install their metal roof because of what they thought they saw on our houseParts of their decision may have been different had they spoken to us first Also, my neighbor’s roof was done by a different “only installer” of SR Services metal roofs who did follow the manufacturer’s installation instructionsPerhaps there will be more on that laterAttached please find pictures of other sections of our roof which show the same un-staggered pattern as the picture that you have currently on fileAlso find a copy of the rejection letter that I sent to SR Services on August by certified mailI thank the Revdex.com for interceding in this matterAt the very least we can hope to contribute to corrections that may have benefits to future customers of SR Services [redacted] ] Regards, [redacted]

Good afternoon, Our tech has gone out to fix issue. Customer approved final work performed as satisfactory. Please close case. Thank you. [redacted]

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # [redacted] [Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Mr [redacted] letterOn 4/I contacted SRS to tell them that they had installed a ridge cap rather than a ridge vent as was contractedThe cap is much less expensive than the vent so I now understand the "mistake"The same "mistake" was made on the job that SRS completed just before they started ours1o days later he came to inspect, tried to tell me the cap would work just fineIn truth, the cap will not allow for the ventilation that is necessary in the atticThe ridge vent was finally installed on 6/2-Several days later I noticed that the installers had put in a broken vent and left it in placeThe broken remains on the roof until this greater issue is settled As for guttersNo request was ever made to take them downIn fact, the picture that Mr [redacted] put on file of the gutter was, in fact, a gutter that was not removed but the installerThere was confusion about the guttersMy assumption was that the gutters that were removed would be reinstallWhen we all discussed this problem Mr [redacted] said that they would be put back up for the cost of materialsThere was no mention of what that cost might beThat job took hours on the morning of March The materials were the necessary 2x4s and some sheathingMr [redacted] never mentions $and only mentioned the $when he realized the expense of the ridge ventTo this day I have not responded in any way to his $chargePlease note that the gutters were put back up on March first and Mr [redacted] informs me of his charge on June second As for the roofing job, discussion with Mr [redacted] on this matter began on 4/While the liof the faux shingles is as clear to see, he just could not see what we were talking aboutThe section of roof he has agreed to replace is done in exactly the same pattern as the entire roofAgain, the entire roof is done without regard to the manufacturer's installation instructionsIn fact, SRS intends to replace only that part of one section of the roof that was sent as a picture too [redacted] to examineIn a formal setting we will have a better forum to present evidence to support our claims As to the volumes praise that Mr [redacted] heaps on his company, I only wish there were more fact and less fiction in his story ] Regards, [redacted]

September 13, 2016Dear Sir:In response to Mr***s letter, Mr*** held back money off the final payment in relation to waiting for the new vented ridge vent I had to custom order to replace the ridge cap that we originally installedThere was never a " misunderstanding" about the gutters at allMr*** requested that we take the gutters off during the installation process, we could have done the install with them in place .After we completed the install of the metal shingles Mr*** decided he wanted the gutters put back upIn doing so, with the new roofing system we had to frame out the front of the home with Lumber and wrapped everything with aluminum coil stockThis was not a small task to accommodateHowever we essentially did it at cost to keep him happy I originally told Mr. *** $1,for this workMr*** thought this was too much so I adjusted the price down to $1,to keep him as the customer happy. It was a full day of labor with men and all the necessary materials to fulfill this for Mr***. So we still have a total of $1,due to the company. I would like to point out we have not asked for the balance owed since this complaint was startedWe are in agreement per my manufacturer "*** *** " that we need to replace a section of the ridge cap and also the back left section of the *** roof This complaint only was filed after the neighbors Metal shingle roof was installed and Mr*** was taking pictures of his roof and there's to compare as wellWe used two different crews and as the manufacturer stated the roof "looks great " other than that small back sectionAlso my manufacturers rep *** *** went out with me the very same day I received Mr***s email about his concern about the roof install months and months earlier? After meeting *** ***, my manufacturer rep on site, we all agreed the area in question- roughly a 20'x20' area would need to be altered as well as the vented ridge cap that needed to be replaced. Typically a contractor will go right over the existing shingles and install the metal shingleHowever we prefer to remove the existing shingle roof right down to the wood and instead of only using a vapor barrier we install High Temp Ice and water to protect our customers home when the metal sweats from the temperature changesHead engineer *** *** at *** *** has stated they would have no problem issuing there year material warranty after the xarea be altered and the piece of foot ridge cap is replaced. This speaks volume as the work our company has done on Mr. ***s home and the confidence *** *** has in the installation of this roof.*** ***- of *** *** has been sent numerous different photos of the entire roof that I will attach for your review. They only section suggested to be redone is the one we agree to do, Not the entire roof system. We pride ourselves selves having a A+ Revdex.com rating and pray that we can continue to have a perfect rating with your companyWe perform work on hundreds of roofs per year and have never had to deal with something like this before.Sincerely*** ***General Manager

August 31, 2016 To: Revdex.com of Eastern MA, ME, RI, & VT 290 Donald Lynch Blvd, Suite 102 Marlborough, MA 01752-4705   Re: Complaint #[redacted]   Dear Sir/Madam: I write in response to Complaint #[redacted], Scott Roofing Services by our customer Mr. [redacted].  This roof...

was installed in February 2016.  I would note that Mr. [redacted] was very pleased with our workmanship on the roof that he bragged about the roof to his neighbor who also purchased a roof from our company.  The first complaint we received from Mr. [redacted] was in June 07, 2016.  We take customer satisfaction as our best advertising and want happy customers.  To that end, we have reached out to Mr. [redacted] on numerous occasions to remedy this matter.  We have contacted the manufacturer, [redacted], and have a response from their Chief Engineer, [redacted] that roof looks great elsewhere and recommends for us to replace just the area where customer has complained about which is photo number 1.  The design is what is complained of, not the manner in which the roof was installed.    As stated on the letter form Mr. [redacted], the 2/3 then 1/3 pattern is only a suggested guide by the manufacturer and does not mean that all installers must follow this pattern. Installers can choose other methods of staggering as long as it looks aesthetically good. Mr. [redacted] believes that this is the only way the roof should be staggered during installation. Mr. [redacted] disagrees and has asked us to do entire roof over and he also stated that he would like a different contractor to go out and fix the roof. We believe that no other area of the roof needs replacement other than area where contractor did not follow the pattern used on all other areas of the roof. Mr. [redacted] is a valued customer and we feel deeply sorry for the inconvenience this has caused on his end. However, we strongly believe that it is unfair of him to ask us to remove and redo sections of the roof that are done correctly. Subcontractor who initially worked on Mr. [redacted]’s roof has agreed to go back out there and perform all necessary work to make customer happy. We make every attempt to make all our customers happy and provide the same excellent customer service we have provided for over 45 years. Our customer service and quality product has been a trademark since the beginning of the company and we intend to keep it this way. We would like for Mr. [redacted] to come to an agreement with us and allow us to only do the area that he initially had complained about on June 07, 2016. We understand and respect the decision that any Revdex.com representative makes and we also understand that a mediator is looking out not only for the best interest of our company but as well as the satisfaction and peacefulness of the customer.   Sincerely,   [redacted] General Manager [redacted]

[Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Mr. [redacted] letter. On 4/11 I contacted SRS to tell them that they had installed a ridge cap rather than a ridge vent as was contracted. The cap is much less expensive than the vent so I now understand the "mistake". The same "mistake" was made on the job that SRS completed just before they started ours. 1o days later he came to inspect, tried to tell me the cap would work just fine. In truth, the cap will not allow for the ventilation that is necessary in the attic. The ridge vent was finally installed on 6/2-3. Several days later I noticed that the installers had put in a broken vent and left it in place. The broken remains on the roof until this greater issue is settled.     As for gutters. No request was ever  made to take them down. In fact, the picture that Mr. [redacted] put on file of the gutter was, in fact, a gutter that was not removed but the installer. There was confusion about the gutters. My assumption was that the 2 gutters that were removed would be reinstall. When we all discussed this problem Mr. [redacted] said that they would be put back up for the cost of materials. There was no mention of what that cost might be. That job took 4 hours on the morning of March 1. The materials were the necessary 2x4s and some sheathing. Mr. [redacted] never mentions $1600 and only mentioned the $1200 when he realized the expense of the ridge vent. To this day I have not responded in any way to his $1200 charge. Please note that the gutters were put back up on March first and Mr. [redacted] informs me of his charge on June second.      As for the roofing job, discussion with Mr. [redacted] on this matter began on 4/21. While the line-up of the faux shingles is as clear to see, he just could not see what we were talking about. The section of roof he has agreed to replace is done in exactly the same pattern as the entire roof. Again, the entire roof is done without regard to the manufacturer's installation instructions. In fact, SRS intends to replace only that part of one section of the roof that was sent as a picture too [redacted] to examine. In a formal setting we will have a better forum to present evidence to support our claims.      As to the volumes praise that Mr. [redacted] heaps on his company, I only wish there were more fact and less fiction in his story.            ]

I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # [redacted]. Please add your rejection comments below.
[II filed a previous complaint please refer to #[redacted] 2 weeks ago. This company installed siding on my house that is buckling, the siding is under warranty. I filed the initial referenced complaint because the company consistently avoided my calls for repair. Once I filed the original Revdex.com complaint, [redacted] (manager), called to arrange for repair and asked me to drop the Revdex.com complaint. In good faith I did so. Mr [redacted] then sent someone to my home (that he described as his foreman) and when nobody was home, after I specifically stated to him that I was to be there. The foreman then nailed a line of nails through the ridge of the siding that are visible along the entire length in the front of my house about 30 feet long. When I returned home I immediately called [redacted] and inquired about that. Mr [redacted] then attempted to deliberately deceive me by telling me that the nails fell out. This is concerning in that he deliberately attempted to lie. I am re-opening the case because now the entire length of siding is ruined and the siding can no longer expand and contract with the weather. I have asked Mr [redacted] everyday for 7 days to make an appointment with me fix the siding. Each day I have called him to make appointment and each day he says "Let me check into this" and still no appointment. This has gone on for 7 days now. And now the siding is totally ruined and needs to be replaced. This company has damaged a 30 foot section of siding in the front of home with a faulty repair. I would like to get an estimate from a legitimate siding company in the area and SR Siding needs to pay for that repair. I would like the pre-work check provided to me prior to the work being done to fix SR Roofing's poor workmanship. I would a like and resolution by July 12th via email or text. The company cannot enter the property again unless the homeowner is present.
