ASARCO LLC (“ASARCO”) received the above-referenced complaint on June 9, 2017, which was addressed to the ASARCO Hayden Complex? Please accept this letter as ASARCO’s response.? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? First, ASARCO does not have public, retail customers; it sells its products to commercial parties, including wholesalers, brokers and manufacturers? Please note that the person filing the complaint is not a customer of ASARCO; therefore, we are not clear why she enlisted the help of the Revdex.com? We believe we received this letter in error; regardless, we will take this opportunity to help clear up certain issues.? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Secondly, while it is terrible to hear of someone preying upon another, the telephone number listed in the complaint, which is the alleged number through which the attempted telephone scam occurred, does not belong to ASARCO? ASARCO’s IT department confirmed, after examining its records for the last months, that the referenced telephone number did not (and does not) belong to ASARCO? It appears the person filing the complaint may be relying upon incorrect information found during her Google search as to the ownership of that telephone number? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Finally, ASARCO is unaware of any such attempted telephone scam, and the person filing the complaint was twice correct in pointing out that ASARCO was not aware of any IRS telephone scam emanating from its business? Properly, that person does not put the blame for the attempted telephone scam at the feet of ASARCO? Instead, the blame should be directed towards those unscrupulous individuals perpetrating the scam, and ASARCO would encourage the person filing the complaint to direct this matter to law enforcement for investigation?
