Review: I visited your store in Metairie on Saturday October 3rd for hair color services. They did not have my appointment in their system and I had to show the text messages and offered to play the voicemail left confirming that I did, in fact, have an appointment. After a few minutes of working around, they found another Master student who would be able to do my color. I showed the girl a photo. At that time the instructor informed me that my hair may not lift to that color and that it may take a couple visits to obtain the blonde shown in the photo. I agreed that I was ok if the blonde wasnt as bright. I wanted an Ombre and the girl doing my hair spoke to the instructor to discuss how to achieve it. So she started her work. My appointment was for 1:30. After hours in the chair, she washed my hair and when it was dried I was horrified to see what the instructor [redacted] called hard lines that were horizontal on my entire head. They did not have time to fix it as it was almost 7pm when they were finished. I had a very large party for my uncle to attend the very next day which is why I was getting my hair done ( I never treat myself so I decided to use the party as an excuse). I was mortified when I was told they couldnt have someone fix it until Wednesday. I told them if I had to wait until Wednesday I was going to CVS and buy a box of hair dye to cover it myself. It was only then that they found someone Monday who could fix my hair. I had to take an entire day off work to sit there from 11:30 until again, almost 7. They put highlights in , that didnt work to cover the hard lines. They did Bayalage (sp) to try to cover the lines, that did not work. They had to cover my hair with a dark brown dye to cover the horrible dye job. I had to attend my uncles party with my hair curled and pinned in the hopes nobody would notice. I lost an entire days pay to sit in a salon and leave with the same color hair I went in with. The girl who was stuck helping to fix my hair lost out on clients and money because of this. To add insult to injury, I was sent to voicemails and people who told me oh the directors arent here today only to have to call back and almost demand to speak to a director about this. When I spoke to her she had no idea any of this was going on and said she would call me back. When she called me back she offered a refund in the form of store credit. That it is policy to not refund money. I was astounded that after all the inconvenience, not to mention money I lost taking off work, that I couldnt be refunded $72. Why would I want store credit to a place that destroyed my hair? Furthermore, the dye that was used to cover this mess of an Ombre is now washing out so in a matter of days all of this underneath will be seen. So I will have to pay someone else to fix my hair! I work in a professional environment where I have to walk around with this and explain that the salon I had It done at could really care less that even after they messed up a haircut, I still returned to give them another shot. I will never return to that store, the credit is useless to me as I did not get even a fraction of what I asked for. My hair was over processed in an attempt to fix what happened and im still left with hair that is unacceptable. I do not want a credit, I want a refund. I had several appointments booked in the future but have since cancelled them due to the way this has been handled which, in my opinion, was grossly mishandled and I would be livid if a business I owned treated people this way. I realize its a school, which is why I went back Monday. But after it wasnt fixed and I basically paid for nothing, I feel its completely unacceptable not to have my money refunded. I paid to have the same color hair I had before (except this color is fading and ill have to spend even more money and time to fix it.Desired Settlement: I would require a refund as the service was not provided to any level of satisfaction and this will cost me hundreds of dollars in the future to hide was was done to my hair since this is blah in my hair and cannot be washed out. A also feel like I was given the run around hoping I would just give up.

Review: This was my first and last time visiting the Aveda School in NYC. My first appointment I had with a young girl who was 1 month away from graduating to becoming a fully licensed hairdresser. I had asked for highlights and left there with my hair looking the exact same- after spending endless hours in the salon chair leaving with not even a slight difference to my hair color. I called, complained and was re scheduled for a re-do. The second time she colored my whole head, (and it says online that they are supposed to do a hair patch test first to make sure you aren't allergic to the Aveda products) which she did not do to me, it started to burn and itch. Clearly I had a reaction to the hair color. After, she rinsed it out and did highlights in the front of my face. I left there with my roots light brown, yellow hideous highlights around my face and the rest of my hair black. I was very disappointed so I told them at the salon and they said they do not offer refunds but would be willing to color my hair again. I of course said NO, I will not put any more color or damage to my hair, that would have been the THIRD time. I called the bank and filed a dispute, but Aveda wrote them back and said that they do not do refunds and my only choice was to get my hair colored again. Therefore I am filing this complaint to you and want my full refund back from Aveda. I got a partial coloring, which cost $60 and a swirl which was another $18- So total I want to be refunded $78. Thank you.Desired Settlement: I want to be refunded the amount of $78.
