Total rip off
I gave them a $1000 dollar deposit in April which they swore would be refundable under any circumstances.
No they won’t rerun emails or phone calls. Scammers stay away

This company is only about 1 thing and that is making money. Which most companies want to do. However most companies I would like to think would want to keep their paying Customers happy. They sell spas and hot tubs and that’s the end of it. If you call with problems they have no technicians and have no way of helping you besides sending you to 3rd party venders they buy their parts from. But it gets better when they receive the parts from the vender they change the part numbers to a barefoot part number so you have no way of buying replacement parts. I have a barefoot spa with a bad circuit card (the brain of the system). I have all the data to reload a new circuit card but I have no way of buying one. The Manufacture of the circuit card is balboa. When I speak to balboa they tell me they don’t sell that circuit card because it’s a barefoot part number. ( it has balboa written all over it). When I call barefoot they tell me it’s a balboa item and you have to buy from them. So here I am stuck in the middle of 2 companies with no results. Both companies got paid and I now own a 7 person tub that hold water. I would not recommend buying anything from barefoot spa. Balboa tried very hard to help me but had no success. So I don’t want to down them at all they had great customer service but need better communication with barefoot.

Do not purchase from this company. We’ve had our spa less than a month. When taking off one of the removable headrests to clean behind it, it tore a section off.
I called, sent an email, with pictures and the lady who answered said it was not a covered part, and to order a replacement online.
TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! How can you trust them for anything if they won’t cover even a headrest that’s less than a month old?!!!

Barefoot Spas Response • Jul 09, 2020

sorry to hear you broke your pillow. As you know, the warranty does not cover items that the owner admittedly breaks. You threatened to post bad reviews as leverage to force us to send you a free replacement part. We would hope that anyone reading your review would see through what you are doing. Again, we'd be more than happy to send a replacement part to you once it is paid for.

I had the same exact problem when removing my headrest for the first time. Shouldn’t happen when simply removing it to clean. It comes down to cheap foam and craftsmanship. Sorry to hear Barefoot Spas doesn’t stand behind their expensive products.

I would give it a zero if I could. Bought the spa at a blow out in Pittsburgh. Was delivered timely. Had spa running for 5 days when it stopped working.Pump one which controls heater is not working. They were to have local company check the issue-and COVID hit. I'm still waiting. No return calls from "management" as promised. Spoke to one woman in customer service who told me there was no one else to talk to but her-and that the agreement said no refunds or replacements. Stuck with a spa that does not work. Buyer Beware-DO NOT BUY from them when they come back to Pittsburgh. You do not get the agreement until you purchase-and it is e-mailed to you after the sale; when there is nothing you can do about it. I paid cash. So essentially nothing I can do. I'm trying to contact state Attorney General to see what else I can do.

BUYER BEWARE!!!! STAY AWAY from this "Company" We paid a deposit for a hot tub at a "blowout" in Manassas VA last weekend. We received no "paperwork" with the sale except that which was emailed to us. The contract on it, was not one I would have signed! I was quite concerned when the sales guy returned AFTER we had signed the financing paperwork to ask us to sign a "reconditioned / floor model ) acknowledgement. When I called 4 days later to inquire about the delivery, I could get no answer and had to leave a message. I got a txt AT MIDNIGHT asking me to confirm my deliver for 1pm to 6pm the following day. I called back later that day ( around 2pm ) to see if they had an ETA and played phone tag with the delivery crew until 8:00pm, when they called and said they were 2 hours away but would "be there soon". Who the hell delivers a hot tub at 10:00pm!!! Then they call back after I complained and said the financing was cancelled. I have yet to talk to their finance department to see about getting my deposit refunded . I will be calling my credit card company next to have that charge disputed. This has to be the most deceptive company I have ever tried to conduct business with. I thing the hiccup, whatever it was, was divine intervention. Read the reviews, I wish I had before wasting 2 day of my life dealing with them.

We have experienced terrible customer service! We still can not get someone to call us! We begged for someone to call us to discuss how the ozone system works and how to regulate the sanitizer in our spa because our son actually got sick from it not being clean. I sent numerous emails asking someone to physically call me! Customer service responded to my last email stating “This thread shows you were contacted by email, how else can we help you?” I want a phone call!!! So I can talk to a real person and ask questions!
DO NOT purchase a spa from this company! They do not care about you actually using the spa for health reasons. They claim to support the ***...well I have ***, so I guess they don’t support actual people with ***! They don’t care about your family enjoying the spa...my son got sick from ours and they have yet to call and help us figure out how to regulate the sanitizer.
This was such an exciting purchase for our family, and I am beyond disappointed! I would never recommend this company!

Thank you for reaching out to us. According to our phone records we have spoken with Ms. on several occasions in addition to many email communications; ironically we spoke to Ms. the day she submitted this review. We have thousands of happy customers who use our spas on a daily basis for health reasons. One of the many benefits of a Barefoot Spa is hydrotherapy. We have advised Ms. against using the harsh chemicals that she was adding to her spa and to follow the instructions in her Owner’s Manual.

To Whom it may concern, Mr [redacted] purchased a hot tub from one of our distributors on 08/04/The customer called our customer service on 08/06/describing the symptoms of an airlock, which is typical in initial staproceduresAfter walking the customer through programming the topside and the releasing the airlock, the customer continued to experience issues and we elected to send a technician under warrantyThe technician scheduled the customer for service on Saturday 08/22/and determined the customer needed a replacement pumpWe received the serial number of the pump from the customer on 08/26/needed to get a replacement pump from the supplierThis information was provided to the supplier and a replacement pump was sent to the customers location on 09/09/and is scheduled to arrive next weekUPS Tracking number: [redacted] We have contacted the local technician to inform him that parts are in transit and a service call has been scheduled for 09/19/for the installationWe apologize for the delay in the services providedAs an apology, we have sent the customer a complimentary 90-day supply of his sanitizer systemIf you have questions, please call!

Revdex.com spoke with the businessA service tech did go out to the customer's homeIt was found that there was a bad breakerThe tub is working correctly at this time

To whom it may concern, While we respect the opinion of the technician in the field, we do not agree with his conclusion that the panels cracked from over tightening on installation, as the panels were not cracked at the time of deliveryAs stated in the terms and conditions of the warranty, if the panelling had a defect that impacted the structural integrity of the spa that was caused by our manufacturing process, Barefoot Spas would replace them at no charge to the customerHowever, the damages noted are only cosmetic, and not eligible for warranty coverage regardless of the origin of the defectI have [redacted] a copy of the terms and conditions of the warranty for your review

During the sales process our sales rep told us that we would not need any chemicals in our tub because the "ozone generator" took care of sanitizing the water which is completely false In attempting to report an issue we have had with our tub after only having it for months I have left several messages via phone, email, and the electronic form on their website and have not had my issue resolved On several occasions I called and found their company's voicemail box full with no explanation or alternative contact method given This is very unprofessional When I am able to reach someone (which has only happened three times in over attempts) they say that "someone else is working on my complaint and that they will call me back with more information." I have yet to be called back If you are in the market for a hot tub do NOT go with this company-- they are unprofessional and do not seem the least bit concerned with customer service after you have given them your money

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below [Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.] Regards, [redacted] this tub worked fine for months there is nothing wrong with how my electrician hooked it up its an issue with the tub they had some company call me and wanted me to pay for there service like $just to show up I am not paying for it I should not have to pay a dime this is crazy this is the third issue with this tub already there junk I so wish I never bought this thing I wish they would just come get it so I can buy a new one that works

I bought a *** swim spa at the a sale in Savannah, GA, on October 5, 2019. The spa was delivered 3 days later. On delivery, I noticed damage to the bottom of it, which I assumed was the fully enclosed "rodent proof" pan that the salesman sold me on. From my porch, I took a picture of the delivery person pointing at the damage to bottom of the spa, as I asked him about it, while the spa is still 1/2 on the delivery truck. The delivery person stated that the weight of the spa would seal up the crack when it gets in place, that he could not take it back, and that if I had problems with the spa, to contact customer service. After the spa was in place, I cleaned and filled it, only after leaving a message with customer service regarding the damage. The next day when the electrician came to wire the pumps, we found that the spa leaked most of the water out. Again, I called customer service. Thereafter, for two months, I was asked to keep forwarding the pictures of the damage that was noted on delivery, and proof of the leak, to several different "managers", and "customer service" representatives. Nearly a month into this fiasco, one of the representatives promised that they had found a repair man to come out to the house by the end of the next week, to assess the damages and leak. However, he did not come out, return my calls, or answer my texts for more than 2 weeks. Again, I called customer service, had to leave a message stating that I was done waiting, and that I wanted my money back due to the lies and the run-around that I had been getting. Some rude woman in shipping called me back and said that she was returning my call, listened to a brief summary of my concerns, and let me know that she can do nothing for me because she's "just in shipping", and that I cannot get my money back or an exchange because the "Agreement" says so.
After being lied to for so long, and dealing with my new swim spa be no more than an expensive lawn ornament, I opened a complaint with the Revdex.com. The Barefoot Spas company response to my complaint was appalling. Their response was that I bought the spa at a discount, and that I knew that the spa was sold as a demo/floor model at a discounted cost. Also, that the repair person that they contracted to work on the spa had been trying to schedule the repair, and that I have refused to schedule a repair appointment. MORE LIES!!! How sickening is it when a company that has defrauded you makes you at fault, when they knowingly are the ones at fault. It only gets better!
So, after the communications through the Revdex.com , I received a call from a manager who states he has the authority to make decisions regarding my concerns, named Sean. Sean finally was able to schedule a repair person, after two months, from *** in Hilton Head. Jim, the owner, came to the house and was courteous, knowledgeable, and punctual. He was quickly able to find the leak, and so much more. When Jim removed the side panels to find the leak, I realized that there is no "rodent proof pan" under the spa, like the one in the showroom, instead the frame was painted black to look like the pan was there, nor was there any of the "N.A.S.A approved insulation" inside. Those were both huge selling points for me due to the area that the spa would be placed. And, if you go to https://www.barefootspas.com/the-difference, you can see that both of those features are part of the construction of all the Barefoot Spa models. Now I have realized that it was not the rodent proof pan that was cracked on delivery, it is actually the bottom frame that is split horizontally from being dropped at some point, prior to delivery. Jim also noticed that the spas cover is absorbing water, which is weighing it down and causing it to sag in the center, the heater is too small for the size of the spa, none of the four pumps were secured to the frame and were moving freely, which could be problematic in the near future.
Soon after Jim reported his findings to Barefoot customer service, Zeb called me to tell me the good news, "we're sending a new cover and some side panel clips for the repair man to re-secure the side panels". When I asked what they are doing about repair to the frame, because Jim said he wouldn't fix that, it needs to be replaced, they told me that they are looking for a repair person to bring a crane to my property, lift the spa, and repair it on my property. I let Zeb know that that was unacceptable, and that I was not willing to wait for them to find someone for that repair when it took them 2 months to find Jim, who said it needs to be replaced, and a crane would tear up my property. He said he would let Sean know, and when he did Sean's response was to blame me again. NOW THEY ARE NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT MY CONCERNS, NO WARRANTY!!! Reason..."I placed the spa on uneven ground which caused the frame to split when I filled it." Never mind that I have photos of the damage before it was fully off the delivery truck, which Sean has seen, and photos of my 3 ft level on the edge of the spa with the level water line shown behind the level. Moreover, Jim, the professional had no concerns with my level, firmly packed masonry sand base, which would have been perfect for a spa with a fully enclosed "rodent proof" under pan, only if it were there.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! You won't get what you paid for. They use bait-and-switch tactics, and they won't stand behind their warranty on their poorly manufactured units that actually gets delivered to you.

Barefoot Spas Response • Dec 26, 2019

Ms., thank you for reaching out to us. Sorry to hear you are having issues with your spa; we can appreciate your frustration. According to our records the leak was fixed within minutes by tightening one of the connections. The spa was not damaged as you describe, rather a couple of staples had come loose exposing the insulation. Unfortunately, the issues you are experiencing are due to the spa being installed and filled on an uneven surface contrary to the directions found in the Owner's Manual that you received. None of our spas experience issues when installed on a level surface built to code. If we can be of assistance, please contact us.

I received and read this response to my review, from Barefoot Spas:
"Ms., thank you for reaching out to us. Sorry to hear you are having issues with your spa; we can appreciate your frustration. The spa was not damaged as you describe, rather a couple of staples had come loose exposing the insulation. Even if it were true that my placement of the spa is what caused the structure to crack horizontally, which is scientifically impossible, especially when placed on bare ground, did my choice of placement of the spa cause it to be missing the components that your website states are part of its construction? Either the salesmen are trained to lie to the customers, or they don't know they are doing it, which is it? Now, since this company is trying to skirt their responsibility for the damages, how will you make it my fault that this spa is poorly constructed, and not the one I bought off the showroom floor?

To Whom it May Concern, [redacted] contacted our customer service team and sent authorization for services to be provided under warranty on January 20thUpon receiving the authorization from the customer, we contracted a local service center to survey the spa's defectThe local service company was out to the customer's location on January 26th, and determined that the customer likely had two separate leaks based on the description provided by the customerHowever, the water level had dropped to the below the lowest leak, and in order to determine the location of the primary leak, the secondary leak would have to be repaired so the spa could be filledThe order for the parts needed to fix the secondary leak was processed and shipped on January 29th and received by the customer on February 2ndUpon the part being received, we were able to schedule a follservice call for installation at the technician soonest availability of February 13thThe technician was successfully able to install the parts and fill the spa to locate the secondary leak so we could process the order to ship the partsDue to inclement weather conditions and scheduling conflicts with the initial service company, we contracted an alternate service company to complete the repairThe alternate service company attempted to reach the customer to schedule service and was not able to schedule service until April 16thThe alternate technician was able to determine that the parts requested by the original service center were inaccurate, and provided a temporary fix until the correct parts were received by the customer, at which time the service company will schedule installation

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below [Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.] There was no offer but rather three statements It is true that there were no "brochures", instead I was guided to the Barefoot internet web site for information The [redacted] "Owners Manual" printed from that site on 2-22-describes the "Gate Valves" as part of their "Internal Components", page 15, and why they are included I noticed as I was creating this response that they have since changed their "Owners Manual" to include "General Components" without "Gate Valves" Perhaps they took my suggestion to upgrade their web site The examination of the EXACT unit delivered did not include removing the front panel, which is screwed on, for inspection Instead we were shown a similar model which was already opened for inspection That unit contained "Gate Valves" The salesman said that all units were made the same way In a subsequent phone conversation with the salesman, he stated that all the units he was familiar with contained Gate Values like the one we viewed The person responding from Barefoot must be new this year and must not be familiar with the previous "Owners Manual" or other [redacted] units manufactured for Barefoot I was rather disturbed by the tone of Barefoot's response as it seems most unprofessional They did not appear to want a resolution, but rather claimed "..we told him we do not use them", clearly not a truthful response to what was told to me by the salesman and a different tone than [redacted] email Regards, [redacted]

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below [Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.] Regards, [redacted] The manager of Bare Foot stated that she sent a new pump under warranty, but it depends on the impeller ? I don't want to sign off as of today 4-11-A service Tech will be at my home on Thursday to access the damage of the pump and who will pay for the new pump

We purchased a Barefoot Spa as an upgrade to a Spa we had (and let me say had NO trouble with) for over years We decided to upgrade only because we figured newer spas will have better features and ours was over years old However, I would do anything to have my year old spa back and get rid of this junk Barefoot that we purchased Since the day we got it we have had NO luck it is ALWAYS green, it is NEVER clean and we are very disappointed with this spa The sales person told us how great theses were, how helpful the company was and that they stood behind their product We have had no assistance and continue to have a disgusting NEW spa!

To whom it may concern, Our customer service department has attempted to explain the operation and design of the topside to the customer, but in an effort to help provide a better understanding, I have addressed some of his concerns/comments belowOur controls are designed to maintain the customers selected temperature on the topside, the pump will run on low speed until it has exceeded this temperature by two degreesIf the temperature were to drop below the temperature selected by the customer, the heater will kick on and aid in heating the water until it is within one degree of that temperatureThis is to maximize the usage of the ozone filtration (which only runs when the pump is running in low speed), and allow the spa to utilize the heat generated from the pump inside the cabinet so the heater is not running as frequentlyBecause the spa's pump and heater are not regularly kicking on and off throughout the day, the spa is more efficient and it will extend the life of the pump.In a more "traditional" spa, a customer would select a desired filter cycle and a mode settingBased on our experience in the industry, these are very confusing for the average consumer, and limit the ability to maximize the usage of the filtration system, while still enjoy a comfortable water temperatureBecause the mode settings and filter cycle settings are independent programs on these controls, they are often set in such a way that the spa is either not filtering enough to keep the water clean, or filtering too much that the spa would overheat and trip the breaker Though the maximum temperature the customer is able to select on the hot tub is 104, any topside in the industry will not "overheat" until the temperature has exceeded degreesThis is a federal industry standardAmbient temperatures will effect the temperature of the water, so in warmer months, it is more likely that the temperature on the spa will exceed the selected temperature by or degreesIn colder months, it is more likely that the temperature of the water will drop and the heater will kick on The product is covered under our manufacturer's warranty, so if there was a defect in the topside, we would happily dispatch a technician to determine if a replacement is neededHowever, based on the customer's comments, the hot tub is operating as it was designedWe apologize that it is "different" then the hot tub he owned previously, and hope that he now understands that our hot tubs are designed to be "easy to use" and efficient so they can be enjoyed for many years to comeIf the customer has questions about the purchase, he would need to contact the distributor he purchased fromAs the manufacturer of the product, Barefoot Spas was not involved in the purchase process Please let us know if you have further questionsThank you! -Amanda Customer Service Manager

To whom it may concern, Mrs [redacted] purchased a product we manufacture from a distributorThe customer states that they wish to have the "mode" option to control the pump run time and control electric costs, the "mode" on any topside does not control the run time of the pump, only the run time of the heaterThe topside allowed the customer to change the mode to control whether or not the spa would heat when it was filtering or only "as needed"The topside has removed the mode functions, and the heater will always run on demand based on the selected temperatureThe pump runtime is based on the filter cycle settings, which in the newer topside are also based on the temperature selectedThe pump runtime has minimal affect on the electrical usage, and the longer the pump runs, the more efficient the spa isWith the pump running longer through-out the day and generating heat within the cabinet, there is less need for the heater to kick on and heat the spawhich would have an effect on the electricThis is why an electric bill would vary based on the ambient temperatureAny questions regarding the purchase should be directed to the distributor, as they sold the product to the customer off the show floor and delivered it to the customer's residenceThe distributor has procedures in place that require the customer to sign for the unit on the show floor and at delivery to confirm that they received the product in the condition that was promised
