I called Budget Chimney Sweep to install a wood stove for meHe told me he would come over and do an assessment, give an estimate and bring some parts to possibly install if he couldI explained what was needed over the phone and he said it shouldn't be a problemAn appointment was made for the end of the weekNo one ever showed or calledI called him back and he said he had illness in the family and couldn't make, he also said he did not have my number to let me knowHe rescheduled for the following TuesdayI called him an hour before our scheduled appointment to make sure he was still comingHe said he had an emergency and wasn't able to come outHe promised me he would be in my area the upcoming weekend and would call me before he came out...needless to say, no call, no showI had to make arrangements to be home the first two times that he told me he would be overI felt he was not being honest after the first no show, but gave him as second chanceThe second time, I asked if he needed my number to call me when he was on his wayThe man told me he had it in his book(The first time he said he forgot to write it down)This company is a joke in my opinionThe man lies and does not keep his wordFine way to run a business!
On Wednesday November 19, I called Budget Chimney Sweep to have my chimney inspectedThey were prompt in coming out to do the inspection and to give me an estimateThey said they would return on Friday to get measurements and I would then sign a contractI heard nothing on Friday so I called Friday evening and left a messageHeard nothing all weekend so I called again Monday morning and when I reached Mr***r he said they were very busy and he couldn't make itI told him a phone call to let me know would be nice and he then told me to find someone elseI wish I had known that before Monday I could have had someone scheduled to come alreadyI feel he was very unprofessional
On 5/2/16, I spoke with the owner of the business, Jerrod ***He provided the following response:The original work on the chimney was done years ago. He was out there a year ago to water seal the chimney.They called him 1/to months ago to do work on the garage
and to check the chimneyHe water sealed the chimney again.They called him 3/weeks later to tell him the chimney was leaking.He was more than willing to help the customers but they started sending nasty messages to him. He became frustrated to basically told them to "screw off"He admits that he shouldn't have done this but they were getting very nasty.He says the water in their basement has nothing to do with the chimneyThey a crack in the foundation from the front of the house to the back of the house and that could very well be the source of the waterHe has pointed that out to them.He said he also pointed out to them that they need a new roof.He wanted to do a leak test on the chimney but the customers are not being patientThis test has to be done when it is NOT rainingHe said he cannot control the weather.He said he has never told anyone that he guarantees anything for lifeHe does not give guarantees on concrete work at all
