Review: I ordered a custom made area rug and when I received it the seams between the boarder and the rug area were separating in some areas. I sent photos to the company was instructed to return it. I returned the rug and did not hear anything back so I contacted the company. They said they would get back to me. When they finally did get back to me they said they could not find a problem. I then went to the store and showed them in person where I there was a separation in the seam. The owner said that it was not a problem it was the piling of the rug and that it could not be fixed. I said for the amount of money I paid for the rug (approximately $1,600)I expect better craftsmanship. He said they would try to fix it. When the rug was returned to me there was not change. The owner told me there was nothing else he could do. I asked to return the rug and receive a refund, he said because he did not see a problem he would no refund my money.Desired Settlement: original price of the rug.

Response:
This letter is in response to your correspondence of July 11, 2014, which we received in today's mail.
Please be advised that this was gone over with the customer and there is absolutely no seam failure or incidence of the rug coming apart at all. What [redacted] is complaining about is that the seam is noticeable in a couple of spots. This is not a failure of workmanship, the rug is not coming apart, the seam was made tightly, there are no gaps in the seam, it is simply a case of the pile direction. I explained this to [redacted] and told her to call me if the seam ever does come apart (due to normal wear) and that we would attend to it.
We are a family business that have been operating for over fifty years with a policy of trying to acheive complete customer satisfaction, and if [redacted]'s rug was coming apart, we would certainly take care of it. Unfortunately I cannot be more adamant in saying that there is no seam failure at all.
