Local Move, very affordable! 3,sq ft homeDid a great job

I had the company move me yesterday 9/20/15, the young men were wonderful and extremely helpfulI would recommend the company anytime and if I have any other moves , I sure will use Caring Hands againThey were extremely careful with my stuff, which came out flawlessI'm strapped on tight budget, but this was the best money spent so far

Very unprofessional companyFirst of all, they showed up an hour and a half after they were originally scheduled and when I called them to see where they were they said that they came to my place but left because nobody was home (which was a lie because I had been outside the entire time)The mover then said they would be there in a few secondsFinally min later they finally showed up and mover walked all the way to my front door talking to me while smoking a cigaretteThey proceeded to move my stuff and while moving my box spring up the stairs they put a hole in the wall at my new placeThe guy told me he would be back the next day(Sunday) to fix the wall and the scratches they put in my dresser and he never showed upI called the company the next day and left a voicemail stating I had problems and the owner had the guy who moved me call me backWhen he called back he apologized for not showing up and in his own words told me he didn't make it out to fix it because "he had gotten a little too intoxicated"I again called the owner of the company to complain and he began arguing with me in defense of his employeeThe mover claimed he would be out the following weekend to fix the wall, but of course he didn't show up once again

Local Move, very affordable! 3,000 sq ft home. Did a great job...

I had the company move me yesterday 9/20/15, the young men were wonderful and extremely helpful. Worst experience we have ever had moving! We've moved cumulatively over 40 times and always moved ourselves. This move, we were in a bind and had to hire movers at the last minute. From the get-go, careful hands moving company had customer service that left a lot to be desired. But seeing as we were desperate and they were available, we proceeded. We already had the majority of our house packed into boxes, I just needed assistance packing our garage, loading items into the truck, and unloading in our storage unit. I was told to pack our entire house with the three men promised and unload should take no more than 6hours. Because so much was already packed, I was told to expect less than that.
The day of the move, two movers rather than the three that were promised showed up. They required guidance every step of the way on what to do next. They seemed to have no concept on how to "cube" a truck to make the best utilization of space. The movers stopped to take frequent, prolonged breaks. As the day progressed and we were nearing 6 hours of packing, without even approaching the unloading portion, it was clear due to their poor packing, all of our items were not going to fit. Their intended solution was to add an hours round trip to take a second load or tell me I would have to waive my right to any warranty claim, as they would not be held responsible for any further packing. Refusing to pay for an extra minute, I told them I would rent an additional truck and load the remaining items myself, as my husband was deployed at the time hence the reason I was hiring movers to begin with.
I provided the movers an exact address of our storage unit and asked if they would like to follow me. They stated they knew where they were going and they were finally going to pick up the originally promised third member to help with at least the unloading portion (this detour was needless to say, also on my dime). After waiting at the storage unit for over an hour and a half, I attempted to contact the owner who berated me, as if his employees inability to follow directions was somehow my fault. Finally seeing the drivers, I watched as they proceeded to circle the block for an additional 20 minutes, all at my expense. All the while, I was in constant contact with the companies owner who was rude and condescending to me in a very stressful time.
Once the three gentlemen finally arrived at the storage unit, it was clear they did not work cohesively as a group and the tension between them was evident in their vulgar language and unprofessional behavior. Seeing as this process had taken much longer than anticipated, I had an alternate appointment. However, given their prior performance, I did not trust them to successfully, efficiently complete this task on their own and left a family member to supervise. Throughout the unloading process, I was informed multiple times that the movers were literally "throwing" items into the storage unit. I returned as soon as possible to find the storage unit haphazardly packed but unaware of how bad it truly extended, as I could only see the front portion. The transaction was paid in cash and there was no written receipt of total cost. I paid upwards of $650.
Three months later, when our home was finished and we were ready to unpack our unit, nothing could've prepared me for the heartbreak we would find. The more we unpacked, the more damage we uncovered by these supposed "careful hands" disrespect for a military families hard earned items. Boxes clearly labeled "fragile" sat beneath entire boxes filled with heavy items such as books; my sons train tables legs had violently been snapped off beyond any hope of repair to forcefully make the table fit; precious family photos were shoved face first against poles and exterior walls; blankets provided for packing and furniture protection sat piled in a corner while expensive pieces of furniture sat unprotected, scratched and irrefutable damaged with piles haphazardly stacked upon them. Unpacking the storage unit was a virtual safety hazard, as it was clear that items truly had been just thrown in. Every breakable item we owned was broken.
Half way through unpacking the storage unit, I could no longer swallow the devastation and paused to contact the owner. I expected no recourse, as her previous customer service made it clear his companies reputation and opinions of his company were of no merit to him. However, even expecting little, the owner proceeded to still disappoint. Upon informing him of our findings and overall disappointment, I was met with accusations and combative statements. Not an ounce of sympathy or remorse- never was their a mere apology uttered. I was told that there would be no reimbursement for my items, as we did not make a claim the day of the move. When pointing out the itic nature of that statement, as we were unable to see the damage until we unpacked, I was essentially told "too bad."
