I went to Cashtime for a loan. Unfortunately, I was in a car accident in July of 2017 and have been out of work ever since. I initially told the store this information on my first due date after the accident. They informed me that the phone calls would continue. Trust me I understand that part. Unfortunately, with the accident came a lot of issues medically. Due to being out of work I was forced to use money from my savings, borrow etc for all my necessities like shelter, food, medical appts etc . My car was totaled in the accident. I ignored phone calls because I had NOTHING to say. Also because I I knew they would be calling me asking for a day when I could pay and being that its now March of 2018 and I still don't have income and still having doc appts and a scheduled surgery, I finally was able to space out other bills and wanted to pay the bills I had that were increasing with interest etc. I reached out and was told at first they don't settle and I owed at the time about $900+ which I obviously cant afford. I am without a phone right now and decided to reach out to them via email yesterday . I got the same rep I spoke with on the phone a couple weeks ago. He checked to see if I could settle and came back in the amount of $571. I still cant do that - I told them $480 and was told they still can't do that. I see here that plenty of people have paid $200 towards a thousand dollar loan and only paid 3-4 payments? Most of these people have stated they have found new jobs and can now pay. I most likely wont be back to work until August - which puts me out of work for over a year! and im still trying to settle this! seems as though people have gotten their way here and I hate to do this but I'd really rather things not go toward my credit report

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Regards,

I cannot accept the amount that is being charged. I can only afford the amount of 406.00 I can even come up with 500.00 if necessary. As I have stated with the rep, that I have been out of work and I was on a disability leave for a extended period of time. I was not paid most of the time I was off, causing me to be short on my payments, along with me having fraud on my account from causing me to close the current account. I have been unable to communicate with anyone for some time. Please send the Revdex.com documents showing I have always paid my account on time and I have even paid this account off before. I had no intensions of ever being late but I was medically unable to continue payments. My small settlement will come soon and I will be able to pay only the balance off that was due, due to me having medical bills that I must pay. Please understand that I am not trying to get out of my payment but once again I am unable to make the payment for anything more than 500.00. I can scan and show proof that I was off work for an extended amount of time on leave of absence, causing me to fall behind.

So I had no choice but to take out auto loan. If you are looking into taken out a title loan. Don't do it whatever you don't do it. I fall behind in out of work. Finally got a wonderful job. I fall behind my title loan payment. I spoke with Phoenix L[redacted] who said she was happy to help which is a lie. I was on 16days when I spoke with Phoenix L[redacted]. Told her I was getting ready to start a new job. I had to buy school supplies for my child. I could even afford food and had to go get a food box. I told I be in on Aug. 17 to make up past payment which was only $80.00. She told she would note my case. The next morning I woke up to no car. no warning of them taken my car. Them also being accreditation with the Revdex.com is bad thing they pay the Revdex.com for them to have a good score. Now my loan was for $500.00 Now they want 936.36 plus 15 storage fee all upfront before I can get the car back. $80.00 with a promise to pay on aug 17 of the $80.00 plus current payment. Now I'm in a bigger hole and no way to get my car out because they are not welling to work with me. Do not use cash time loan center they are only out to hurt you. If you get Phoenix L[redacted] don't believe a word she say to you

Ms. [redacted] obtained a loan from

Cash Time Title Loans, Inc. “Cash Time” on 10/20/2013 for $500.00. Ms. [redacted]

made 3 payments on time with her 4th payment being returned for

non-sufficient funds. Cash Time attempted over 70 calls, emails and letters in

/>

an effort to contact Ms. [redacted]. Ms. [redacted] finally contacted the office on

2/6/14 and made a promise to pay a partial payment on 2/14/14. Cash Time

accepted this arrangement as we were willing to work with her. Ms. [redacted] did

not make this payment or return phone calls on 2/14/14. On 2/15/14 the Cash

Time Loan Office forwarded the account to our litigation department. Our

litigation Department once again tried to contact Ms. [redacted] with no return calls.

Cash Time then sent the account to our 3rd party Attorney to begin

lawsuit and garnishment proceedings. It was not until then that Ms. [redacted]

called in to the attorney’s office to attempt settlement. At this time Cash

Time had already incurred $300.00 in attorney’s fees. Cash Time is still

willing to settle the account for the $406.67 principal balance plus the

attorney’s fees of $300.00 totaling $706.67. Cash Time will waive the $259.34

in interest and fees currently due. Ms. [redacted] has until April 7th

to accept these terms or the lawsuit will proceed forward for the full amount

due.

Ms. [redacted] is currently 8 payments past due (109

Days late) on her account. Ms. [redacted]’s last payment was received on November

30th 2013. Cash Time is willing to work with Ms. [redacted], we are

willing to waive $292.63 in interest/ fees and a majority of the attorney costs. Cash Time

would be willing to take the $500.00 lump sum payment

Ms. [redacted] offered. Ms. [redacted] may

call the Manager [redacted] at [redacted] to make the

payment before April 15th.

Terrible customer service for the location on 12th street and Thomas. The new manager name [redacted] is extremely rude and is a liar. I lost my job a month ago and paid 300.00 towards my car payment and made an arrangement with [redacted] at the front desk on 06/11 to pay the rest of my payment on the 9th which was my next car payment. This was fine when I left. My car was disabled on the 25th and the manager said that she talked to me and I was told to pay on the 24th. I'VE NEVER TALK TO THIS WOMEN A DAY IN MY LIFE. I told that and [redacted] told me that I had until the 9th to pay a total of 500.00 which was okay with me. This happened on a Wednesday, I asked her If I could have at least until Friday she said no. I ask her if I was able to talk to [redacted], the person that told me this lie she said no and told me that I was lucky to get the extension in the first place. It doesn't matter if I'm paying on a loan there is such thing as good customer service and this women lie to me and basically treated me like I was some low life that does not pay their bills. I've had my car for 3 years and it will be paid off in 4 months paying 407.00 a month, clearly this is not a problem for me. I WILL be calling the district manager. The manager [redacted] was so much nicer.

I lost my job July 1. I contact the location in July to let then know since I was paid up there were no issues. I contacted them in August to let them know of a fraud investigating that happened on my account. I dealt with [redacted] asked about a skip a payment his answer were always lets see what we can do. Family even tried to pay the car not but guys what they don't take major credit cards. So they extends the payment. Then a check is returned then [redacted] wants to tell me oh we can't do a skip payment. This had been going on for two months.

Then I get a threatening phone call that ill be sued. [redacted]. He didn't let Me speak and hung up on me.

this cmpany is the worst by far. there are nothing but rip people off all day long. ppl on [redacted] whom are on fix income, somethimes they come in to find help and all we find is problems and waste of money. at 1st the "loan Officer/manager assistant" told me that for my $700.00 loan my monthly payments will be $120.00 and after 10 monts my loan is payoff. will so I started doing my payments for 9 months, at the final payment I found out I still owe the same $700.00 so I asked the general manager what can I do now because the loan officer lie to me about it. he NEVER Told me its an interest only agreement. so the general manager. ([redacted] I still remember his name)told me I have two options: can payoff the loan or refinance the loan. I showed him the payback guide where shows full buydown. but all he said, it wasnt his fault I was lie about the loan and the person who gave me the loan was no longer there. so I went to find on other company to buy out the debt. and when I found a compettitor to buy the debt from them and place me on a interest and principal agreement. than the general manager told me: "oh we can match that". so I asked him why didnt you ofer that to me if you can do it? all he said was im sorry. he wasnt aware of it. I even always paid early because I get my [redacted] check on the 3rd of each month and my paymnets wasnt do till the 15th of each month. but my loans never moved.

so when I left I over heard a joke they made on the backgroung, about "well at least we already made all them fees, ha ha ha". and the branch manager ([redacted] I think) just replay. its another [redacted] customer. they always come back.... I was so furious I wanted to punch them in the face. how can they do that to anyone. please DONT EVER USE THIS COMPANY DONT MATTER HOW BIG YOU FINANCIAL PROBLEM IS.

My second short term loan with cash time. Paid off in cash, however, as detail oriented as they are with your percentage of interest, they don't care to get a correct address to return your title., rude manager refused to help. A month later, I still have no title.

Review: I took out a loan from cash time on a mint 1997 [redacted] with only 60,000 miles on the car I paid over 1,700 dollars on a loan that was only $1000.00 initially when I told them I could not keep up with the amount of interest and payments they sent a person over to my office he came into my office asked for me by name, then told my office Manager that he was looking for me because I defaulted on a title loan. When I saw what was going on I asked him to leave the building and that he had no buisness here.He then handed me a bright orange sticker with a phone number to call,I call the number and told them what had happened and they told me to pay 2500.00 or they were going to take my car. Then [redacted] from there legal department started calling and telling anybody who picked up the phone at my work that I defaulted on a title loan and that he wanted my employee information so they could start garnishing my wages.I called [redacted] and told him verbally and in writing not to contact my work and that if he kept calling me there I could lose my job.I also told him that they cut my pay by 20% and all I could afford to pay him was $150 which I sent, he then started faxing employee confirmation sheets to my work. When I found out about this I called him and told him I needed my car to get to work and he said he needed money and would drop the loan amount to $950.00 I sent him another $100.00 and three weeks later without warning I woke up to go to work and there were huge tire marks down my driveway and down the street and my car was gone, they repoed it.When I called to see much I had to pay to get car back he told me $3500.00 not including towing or inpound fees (and its all the same company)and the cars worth $6000.00Desired Settlement: I will pay the $850.00 that he told me that I owe.....and want my car back

Response:

Dear Ms. [redacted],

Mr. [redacted] entered into a sales finance agreement with Cash Time Title Loans, Inc. (“Cash Time”) on 12/29/2011 in the amount of $1,019.00. The terms of the agreement are as follows: Mr. [redacted] agreed to make 13 bi weekly payments of $71.33 with a final payment of $1,019.00.

Mr. [redacted] made regular payments between January 2012 and June 2012. However, he missed his bi-weekly payments until February of the following year, 2013. Despite numerous phone calls reminding him of his payment schedule, Mr. [redacted] did not honor the terms of his agreement. When Mr. [redacted]’s account became several weeks past due, Cash Time put out an order of repossession for Mr. [redacted]’s vehicle, as is its right under Arizona state law.

Cash Time cancelled the repossession order when Mr. [redacted] made various payments, albeit partial payments, between February 2013 and April 2013. However, because Mr. [redacted] broke several promises to make payments thereafter and never brought his account up to date, Cash Time reinstated the repossession order and took possession of Mr. [redacted]’s vehicle. Again, such actions are well within Cash Time’s legal rights under Arizona state law in the event of loan default.

As for the claims that Cash Time representatives harassed Mr. [redacted] and violated accepted collections practices, Cash Time has a strict policy that collections agents and representatives of the company adhere to the rules and regulations set out in the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Accordingly, Cash Time strives to avoid any and all collections infractions.

That being said, Cash Time is always willing to work with its customers to find mutually beneficial solutions. Therefore, not only will Cash Time look into any possible collections infractions and ensure complete compliance moving forward, with special attention to Mr. [redacted]’s account, it would also like to accept Mr. [redacted]’s offer to settle this matter for $850.00. If Mr. [redacted] pays $850.00 by the end of November, Cash Time will release his vehicle upon full payment.

Should Mr. [redacted] have any questions regarding his account, he can contact [redacted]’[redacted] at [redacted].

Regards,

Cash Time is a great company, it is the people that actually work there that make it a horrible experience...

First of all poor customer service, I spoke to several representatives there in the glenrosa location, first to Salome. My self, as a new costumer, I obviously had questions, every anwser she gave me was with a sarcastic attitude, constantly placed the call on hold for minutes, also pretended like if we had a bad reception and the most unprofessional action was when she actually hung up the call !! I had to call again and this time some lady by the name of [redacted] anwsered the phone, by the way I had the most hard time understanding her words, she could bearly speak english, and constantly said " OH OK" which is extremely unethical and unprofessional. Our conversation went on until she finally named the documents I needed to take to the office, which is the one in Scottsdale, I went there the same day & the loan officer by the name of [redacted] assisted me, she did not look professional to me, she was dressed like if she was going to high school, not business professional at all !!!! She had a horrible and sarcastic attitude, every answer she provided sounded like if she was doing my self a huge favor and in a extremally rude tone !! As I mentioned in the beginning, Cash Time is a GREAT company, it is the people that work there that make it a horrible experience..
