Commonwealth Financial Network Reviews (2)

After reading very positive reviews about this Aamco we used it as a second opinion on our transmission problems They confirmed that we needed to rebuild our transmission at a cost of $ The car was returned in weeks and we were told it would be better than new My daughter drove it home from school a total of miles and it worked fine On the way back it broke down on I-going mph Luckily she managed to get to the side of the road without a serious accident The car was towed to a local Aamco dealer who identified a serious problem that would require a further rebuild It is important for people to know that the guarantee you receive is with the local Aamco dealer, the Durham location in this case, not with Aamco nationally The Durham Aamco elected to tow it back to their store for diagnosis and repair They identified an electrical problem and we picked up the car again days later All of this was at great expense and inconvenience to us since we lived miles from Durham and we had to make a couple of unexpected trips to and from Durham and arrange an alternate vehicle for my daughter We were assured the car was fixed but we again encountered problems after driving the car miles It was now the weekend when the shop is closed and we needed again to go home which was another mile drive and we still had no workable car for my daughter I made the decision at that time to trade the car in, we got little for it since it was running so poorly, and get her a workable vehicle Obviously I left the Aamco shop off the hook by doing this, however due to work commitments, the expenses associated with working through this continuing problem and the fact that we would never be comfortable letting our daughter drive this car again we felt that was the best decision The person I dealt with at Aamco Durham was very pleasant during all of my contacts, but their position in the end was that it ran well when they tested it They may be a fine shop for minor transmission repairs but I could not recommend anyone using them based on our experience

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/11/03) */
Dear Sirs,
I have reviewed the complaint filed by Mr. [redacted], and submit this response. Crashco Collision Centers repaired the vehicle for Mr. [redacted] based on The Geico Insurance estimate he provided. As part of the repair negotiation, we...

agreed to re use several Parts Mr. [redacted] had in is position, and offered to re do the estimate he provided, reflecting these changes. Keep in mind, until repairs are completed on a vehicle, and a FINAL bill is prepared, the estimate we write is just that...an estimate. We completed the car, and provided Mr. [redacted] a copy of that final bill. As agreed we owe Mr. [redacted] a refund of [redacted] That has been submitted for payment through corporate. Mr. [redacted] stopped back in the shop several weeks ago complaining that the fender liner fell out of his car. I showed Mr. [redacted] that the car was hit, Impacted, by another vehicle, or he himself hit something. Despite the fact that the liner issue was not from workmanship, but the result of another accident, we agreed to replace it at no charge. We ordered the part, and have it here. We are just waiting for Mr. [redacted] to return so that it can be installed. Mr. [redacted] states that he called here several times asking for me. I had heard he called, but as CEO of two companies, it is rare that I would ever speak with a customer directly. I asked my Customer Service people, and I was told Mr. [redacted] would never give them details about the nature of his call. Had he mentioned he wanted to come in for some follow up work, any one at the shop would have been happy to help him, and schedule him in. As we are happy to do now. He just needs to call, set an appointment, and come in for his free customer service repairs. When he comes in, I will provide him with his refund check of [redacted] as well. He is incorrect with his assessment of this situation, and I hope this explanation clarifies it. I have attached his estimate and final invoice to this document. In this instance, I will need to know personally when Mr. [redacted] is coming in for repairs, as I will want to make sure his refund check is available that day.
Respectfully,
[redacted]
CEO
