Review: I hired Dave Brooks Electric, INC to install several fixtures in my home. I provided light bulbs for the recessed lighting that they installed. While everything else worked just fine, they did not install light bulbs in the recessed lighting and one of the fixtures did not work. I feel that they should have tested the fixtures and advised me of any problems before they left my home. I called them to come back to check the fixture, which they did, and rectified the issue. I have now received a bill for $72 for a service call, on top of the $806.19 I was charged for the original job.Desired Settlement: I would like for the fee for the service call to be waived, as the fixture was not tested before they left.

Dave Brooks Electric completed numerous jobs in a 8 hour day originally. The customer supplied all light fixtures including recess lights. The customer supplied the wrong bulbs and We asked if they would like us to run out and get correct bulbs. The customer optioned to get the bulbs for the recess lights and install them. Before we left the job site we tested voltage at the recess lights and everything checked out correctly. The customer called a couple of days later and said one of the recess lights were not working, and We went back out to check. Upon checking we found where the customer had cross threaded the light bulb and it did not make connection with the socket. We remove the bulb and screwed it in correctly. The light worked after this. While we were there the customer had us also work on fridge. We explained on the job site that a 1 hour service charge would be charged. The customer signed a work order before any work was complete.

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.The bulbs were not the "incorrect" bulbs, they were simply non dimmable bulbs. There is no reason that they could not have been installed. The man who came out the second time advised that they had difficulty installing the bulb, and had to screw it in and back out several times before it finally went in properly. Again, this is something that I feel should have been tested before they left my home the first time. Regarding the fridge, they advised that they don't work on appliances but would take a quick look anyway, since he was here. It is ludicrous that they want to charge for it, especially considering that he spent less than 5 minutes on it, and they didn't fix it.
