Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
The company sold me a truck that had a motor issueI flew in to drive it home miles, they guaranteed the motor and transmission would function so I could drive it homeI am out the cost of the plane ticket, hotel, food, days of travel, and after being abandoned miles from home my wife had to drive up to get meThere were no flights available
I am out over $in expensesWhen it was disclosed the motor was missing on number cylinder and I refused delivery I was told they would not refund my depositI left and filed a charge backThe manager called me after the Revdex.com complaint and said I misunderstood my deposit would be refundedI am not aware of the double refundI will look into it
Perhaps they should contact me and work out my proper refund instead of making a bad situation worse
I have always been polite, never said a bad word, I even purchased the salesman lunch after the deal went bad on the way to the hotelThe company didn't offer any solutions when I was at there business they ate my lunch left me a a hotel refused my refund and failed to offer any assistance
Sincerely,*** ***

To Whom It May ConcernI am responding to a complaint to the Revdex.com from *** *** and her Subaru Legacy, VIN #***. Ms*** purchased the care from Dewey Griffin Subaru on 9/21/as a used vehicle with 65,plus miles on it. We had performed a used car
inspection on the vehicle on 8/23/at 65,miles and there was no head gasket repairs made or concerns at that time. The previous owner had serviced with us three (3) times before trading it in and no repairs of head gaskets had been done with us and no record of head gasket repairs needed so we do not know where the claim of being told that head gaskets had been performed before she purchased the vehicle. Ms*** had her car serviced with us on 9/12/at 68,miles, 1/24/at 72,miles and 3/14/at 74,miles. All services were for lube, oil, and filter changes. On 5/21/at 77,miles, Ms*** had her car towed in, stating it had died while driving on the freeway and would not restart. Our technician diagnosed the problem and found the engine had no compression and major engine failure requiring an engine replacement. Ms*** had purchased an extended warranty contract, which supplied a USED engine to be installed in the car. The warranty company, Vehicle One, paid $toward repairs of the vehicle and Ms*** paid $for tune up parts and hoses not covered by the extended warranty. On 9/3/at 81,miles, Ms*** brought the vehicle in for a lube, oil, and filter service and follow up to check on the engine replacement from the previous visit. Our technician, (a Subaru senior master technician) looked at the vehicle and found that both right and left cylinder head gaskets were leaking oil externally. Vehicle One extended warranty company who supplied the used engine approved the claim to replace both head gaskets including sending the cylinder heads out to the machine shop to be resurfaced and pressure tested for cracks. Vehicle One extended warranty company paid the bill of $for the repairs. Ms*** was not charged anything for this visit. On 12/31/at 85,miles, Ms*** brought the vehicle in for a courtesy inspection and had us look for any oil leaks. We inspected the engine and found no oil leaks. On 10/8/2016, Mr*** *** sent us a letter requesting to be reimbursed for repairs performed at Chaplin's Subaru. Soon after receiving the letter, Mr*** was contacted by Allen M*** General Manager of Dewey Griffin Subaru and in the conversation, had told MrM*** that he had purchased the vehicle from his daughter, Ms*** *** before he had taken the vehicle to Chaplin's for service. Mr*** supplied us with the invoice from Chaplin's Subaru which was a total of $for a 105,mile maintenance service, replacement of a dented engine oil pan and replacement of cylinder head gaskets. Also included were pictures of the leaking head gaskets and what he states was a patched job with silicone caulk.Mr*** stated that we had charged his daughter for the cylinder head gasket repairs done on 9/3/in the amount of $which is not true. No charges were billed to Ms*** and we have the credit card invoice from the supplier of the engine who paid the bill.We have not seen this car since December and we notice that there was a change of ownership according to Mr*** *** since we had replaced the cylinder head gaskets. The invoice from Chaplin's Subaru shows that they came in for a routine 105,mile service and the technician at Chaplin's recommended the head gasket replacement due to coolant residue on the left cylinder head which does show in the picture. There was also silicone on the head gasket joints. The technician also recommended replacement of a dented oil pan which would have been the result of impacting something while driving. Our technician; a Subaru mast technician with full training from Subaru, and a very meticulous tech takes pride in performing his repairs properly. He has also been with Dewey Griffin Subaru for many years and has a good reputation for repairs. The pictures that Mr*** supplied to us clearly show some dried coolant residue on one head, but that could have been coolant from somewhere else higher up on the engine and dripped off of the low point which would be the cylinder head area. The silicone in question that shows in the pictures is squeezed out when the heads are torqued to the engine block. The silicone was not applied to the joint between the head and block as Mr*** suggests.Mr*** has requested that Dewey Griffin Subaru pay for not only the cylinder head gasket repair, routine maintenance that he requested due to the mileage on the car, and also replacement of a damaged oil pan that was not anything that we would be responsible forWe don't have records of Ms*** *** contacting Dewey Griffin Subaru after 12/12/2013. The only contact we have had is from Ms*** *** father, Mr*** ***.Thank you, Brian C***, Service ManagerDewey Griffin Subaru Mr

To Whom it May Concern:

In response to complaint ID#[redacted], the customer, [redacted], has been contacted. His deposit of $1000.00 was refunded to him, via credit card, on March 16th.

During the refund process, Mr. [redacted] stopped payment on the original...

credit card transaction, resulting in a $1000 charge back to our dealership from his credit card company.

Therefore, not only has Mr. [redacted] been credited, he has actually been refunded for a purchase that was disputed and charged back. At this time, his credit card company actually owes US $1000.00.

Having stated that, I feel that the matter has been resolved to Mr. [redacted]'s satisfaction.

Respectfully,

Tanya M[redacted]
