I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details concerning the response I reviewed appear below
Most of Shaw's Carpets' reply overlooks the basic element of the complaint
Being "puzzled" as to a customer's install needs is not within the scope of a supplier's business - it just distracts from the weakness of their response
Because Shaw's measured on site, they were aware there was an extensive renovation taking place in the property involving multiple contractors whose work and schedules affected the installation processThe install took place in two stages according to the same specifications measured by Shaw's - the living room on 9-August and dining room completed during the first week of October
But the timing and process does not explain, or have anything to do with, Shaw's ordering feet (ft stairnose and ft threshold) of expensive excess materials that were left over unopened after the job was completedIn fact, there were several feet of both items leftover in open packages which, of course, is to be expected
The issue is Shaw's policy in light of their obvious errorIf, as Shaw's claims in their response, ordering these materials was not a mistake, then Shaw's should justify itThe measurements of my small living and dining room have not changedDo they have a sketch of the floor plan with the measurements they used to place the order? If not, I would be willing to schedule an appointment, with a Revdex.com representative present, so they can demonstrate where they proposed to install linear feet of threshold and the same length of stairnose

[redacted] purchased from us on July 29, 2016, 8 cartons
[redacted] 3 pcs. Stairnose, 3pcs. Baby threshold, 28 ft. oak gunstock
show molding, and /4” plywood, to be installed in his living room, dining room,
hall and landing on our contract [redacted]. We ordered flooring
and received on...

August 5, 2016 and [redacted] picked up on August 6, 2016,
because he did not want to wait for install that we had for August 29, 2016. We
ordered exactly what we needed to install job properly, and he signed our contract
for what we had on it. We have no idea who he had install and whether or not it
was installed the way we would have done. We did not add in stairbose and baby
thresholds unless we are using them on the job. This was not a mistake, and we always
order trim with the flooring so that we will have everything together and to
match when we install the job.It puzzles we that [redacted] could not wait for thirty days
for our install, yet he did not contact us until October 20, 2016, well past,
the 30 day return policy, and this is a policy and we are not “hiding behind anything.”
Surely, his installer in August, since he couldn’t wait for us, so why did **
[redacted] keep the trim around his house for almost three months.We didn’t do anything wrong. He picked up the material and had
ample time to return in the thirty days. We are giving no refund and do not
need his material back for any reason.
