Eiseman Home Solutions Reviews (%countItem)

Hired E Home Solutions to do a variety of home repairs, many ewre paid for and the work never completed. I paid in full for all the services they were contracted to do, upon inspecting the house the chimney cap was never installed, the third story bathroom window was never framed, the bedroom door lock was removed and never replaced, the bathroom they remodeled was done poorly and five months after they completed that bathroom it began to leak through the floor and into the bedroom below it, causing additional ceiling damage. I have tried numerous times through phone calls, text messages, and emails to both James E and Kayla R, the contacts for Eiseman Home Solutions, to which I have not had any response for months now.

We have a 3-season room that we enclosed with EZ-Breez windows in 2010. We had problems with leaking occasionally when we had a heavy, blowing rain, and were looking for a handyman who could assess the problem and address it so the porch would no longer leak when it rained. We reached out to James in late September, 2019, to start discussing how to address the problem, and told him we would like to salvage as much of the existing wood as possible. On October 25 we received the contract from Eiseman Home Solutions to remove the window panels, paint all of the wood inside and out to seal it, then properly reinstall the windows with caulking and flashing, for $1950, and it would take 2 guys 3 days to complete. We agreed to have him do the work, with the caveat that if he got into it and we needed to replace any rotten wood, we would discuss it and adjust cost as needed to resolve the leaking. Work was supposed to start October 28, but due to a family emergency, he didn’t get started until October 29. James assured us he would do the job right and we wouldn’t have future problems with leaking. He was here with 1-3 guys over the next week. He was often late with no call to say if/when he would be here. One day he and one guy left for lunch, leaving the third man here alone (the painter, who did continue to work), and James didn’t come back or call to say he wasn’t coming back that day. When the work was completed on Nov. 6, the total came to $3590, and we paid him the full amount immediately. Flashing was not done, as he didn’t think it was necessary. James guaranteed to us verbally it would never leak. The job looked very nice at completion, but they did get some paint on the deck and a little on the inside concrete. That didn’t worry us that much. It was more important that the leaks were addressed. On November 26, James reached out to us to see how things were going. We told him then that the extra trim piece he had installed on the inside (to make it look better) prevented the windows from being removed from the tracks, which has to be done in order to wash/clean them. He said he didn’t realize that (and neither did we until we tried to clean them). Then on November 27, we had rain. The porch leaked at least as bad as prior to the fix. We texted James about the leak, and he requested pictures. We sent them right back to him. We heard back from him the next day, and had texts back and forth about the issue on November 28. Then we heard nothing further. On December 9, we had another rain, and it leaked again. We texted him and sent pictures. Again, we heard nothing back. We thought we would let him get through the holidays, then follow up with him again after the first of the year. On January 6, 2020, we texted him and asked if he had any idea when he might be able to get to fixing our problem. Again, no word back. Another rain on January 10. We sent him more pictures of leaks from that rain, with concerns that it was leaking even worse than it was before they did the work. We tried to call James on Monday, January 13, 2020, no answer, and left a voicemail for him to call us about what he might be able to do for the issue. At present we still have heard nothing back from him. At this point, we can’t give him a favorable review for the job he did. Additionally, while everything seemed very professional at the outset, his lack of communication, unreliability for being there when he said he would, and the quality of the work after-the-fact, is very disappointing. We just want him to stand behind his work, and make it right.
