of [redacted] go out to the home to inspect the gutters and he stated that the gutters are hung correctly and did not cause the rooting either. The main issue here is that the roof did not cause the rotting soffit and fascia wood. This wood was replaced with all new wood and painted in 2013 as it was rotten then. The roof has a 10 year labor warranty, the wood work completed in 2013 had a 1 year warranty and the new gutters had a 2 year warranty. Clearly, the only thing still under warranty is the roof itself. This was explained to the homeowner, but unfortunately they are wanting Ellerman to replace the wood, which was no fault of ours, for free. Ellerman stayed in contact with the homeowners throughout this month ordeal and the husband was advised from the beginning that the rot was not the fault of Ellerman and [redacted] explained to him also that it was not the fault of the gutters either. Simply said, the owners are not happy with the outcome because Ellerman will not replace their issue for free.

There was no offer to reject. This issue will get sorted out in court, according to the complainant, not over the Revdex.com Complaint website! Let me address your last complaint:1. Unless you are a carpenter/roofer it is in your personal opinion that the work was not done professionally. 2. It is TRUE that the owner of [redacted] did in fact tell [redacted], Head of Operations that the gutters were hung correctly and that the only issue he found was that it needed another downspout added. At that time [redacted] stated that [redacted], previous Operations Mgr, told him that the homeowners did not want an additional downspout hung at that time. That, in fact is a lie as we have the original work order that said nothing of the sort. Seems to us that [redacted] at [redacted] is playing both sides here. We have been straight forward from the start stating that it is not our roof that caused the wood rot issue at hand. Yes, [redacted] was contracted through Ellerman Construction to remove and replace the gutters and downspouts. If the gutters are what is causing the issue, as previously stated by the homeowner, then [redacted] is responsible for the issue and needs to take full responsibility for it. We have stated from the beginning that we would happily remove and replace the rooting soffit as long as [redacted] covered the cost. At not time in talking with [redacted] at [redacted] has he claimed any responsibility for this and has not offered to fix anything. As I previously stated, sounds like [redacted] is playing both sides to save face. Not once has he come to us and stated that their gutter installation has caused this damage and he was taking full responsibility.3. Ellerman has never sent an unsigned email to the homeowner about not being responsible for the damages. I have the actual email on hand as evidence. Every email that I send ALWAYS contains my signature!4. Yes, Ellerman Construction did indeed hire [redacted] to remove and replace the existing gutters and downspouts. That work was warranted for 2 years, per [redacted]. By no means did Ellerman tell [redacted] only to hang 1 downspout. If their work caused the damages then [redacted] is responsible for the repairs. If [redacted] was so cooperative, then why has he not contacted Ellerman to state they are responsible and will cover the cost of repairs? Repairs could have been completed months ago.In closing, if the work Ellerman performed was such horrific workmanship, then why are we just now hearing about it 4 years later? Has your roof leaked? If this case in fact is going to court, then we no longer have anything else to comment on until such time is warranted by our attorney.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
I will assume here, or at least hope, that this response is from the owner of the company, [redacted]. The images that were attached to the response are from early November, when [redacted] first came out. The leaves in the one gutter are not indicative of how we maintain our home. It was the beginning of the Fall season and the leaves were just starting to fall. I travel for my job and I left on Nov 2nd and returned on November 14th, all the leaves had fallen in that time period. If you look at the work closely, you can see, it was not done professionally. It is not true that the owner of [redacted] stated that there is nothing wrong with the gutters or that the improper hanging of the gutters, did not cause the wood to rot. I have, in writing, from [redacted] that regardless of their professional suggestion, Ellerman had them hang over 40' of gutters with only one downspout. [redacted] advised that there would be a charge for the additional material to correct the gutter issues (new downspout added, etc) because they performed the work as hired by Ellerman to do. They have been very cooperative and have shown to be good stewards of their business.I spoke with the Administrative Assistant at Ellerman on December 15th at 8:34 AM and she advised at that time, that [redacted] was going to come out to our home and look at the damages to assess. At that time, I let her know we would be gone for the week, as I had to be in KC for work. I asked that [redacted] come out the following week when we got back to our home. Instead, supposedly, [redacted] came by and determined, without us being here, that the work was not the fault of his company. They then send an email, unsigned, stating that they would not assist with any issues, placing the blame on the gutter company instead. As I stated to them at the time, they hired and instructed the gutter company so it was Ellerman's responsibility to correct the problems caused by the negligence.I am a business woman and in know about customer service, so for the owner to come when we were not home and didn't care enough to speak with us about a solution (paid for or not) speak volume about the type of business person he is. I certainly maintain that the horrific workmanship, very visible to the eye, was due to a lack of good practices, by Ellerman Roofing.I do not expect, due to the responses so far, that Ellerman will be responsive moving forward so we will have other professionals access the job and handle through the court system where I can present evidence.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
