The business has responded Please see below:On August ***, *** *** ** received an estimate to have the front end of his vehicle as per his requestHe received the estimate via email and did express that it was "extremely expensive"We explained to *** ** that we use an outside vendor for
bodywork*** ** wanted to change the estimate that the body shop provided and we explained to him that we could not do thatWe even offered to have the car released back to him at no charge if he was not comfortable authorizing the repair as no work had begun at that timeIt was after that email that *** ** replied to us authorizing the full repair(Email thread could be provided if needed)*** ** was in no way forced to have the vehicle repaired as he did have options and as per his own admission states that the car was drivable

I have paid $for repairs that I was told will correct my problemAfter having the repairs completed, the car still has the same issues and I was then told it would cost another $to repair and the car was not worth itI was told this directly by Jofran at BMWThe manager also said that even after the extra $in repairs, the car may still not be fully fixedI believe I was baited into making the initial repairs and once they were completed and paid for, the car still has the same problems and needs much more workAgain, I would have never agreed to the initial repairs at $if I had known that this would become a $ordeal that still may not fix the carI want a refund

Complaint#ID *** *** ***’s accounting of the repairs performed on his BMW Xis an accurate account of the sequence of events that led to the eventual repair of his carOur technician replaced the first fuel pump under warranty making a logical assumption that it was defective
When the vehicle returned after only miles the shop sampled the fuel to ascertain the root cause of the second fuel pump’s failure; at that point we found that the tank was filled with both ethanol and waterBy *** ***’s own admission the chain of events was a direct result of filling his tank at a Getty station; he would be well advised to pursue this issue with them

*** *** brought his car in on the afternoon of March *** with various drivability issues and/or complaintsHe stated that the vehicle was stalling and running rough. As per BMW procedures, we performed the diagnostic test plan and retrieved the fault codesWe were able to trace the fault
to the crank case ventilation system which is known as the cyclonic valveAt that point, we contacted *** *** to inquire about the vehicle’s maintenance and we were assured that it was properly maintained within the past several years. After receiving authorization, we proceeded with the repairDuring the course of the repair, we discovered that the engine was choked with sludge (oil) and we did our best to clean the engine and effect the repair to the cyclonic valve. After the completion of the repair, the car was road tested and drivability issues had been resolved. We also completed additional repairs deemed necessary but upon final road test, the vehicle set a new fault for the Vanos solenoidWith MrDaniels’s approval; we replaced the Vanos solenoid, cleared the faults and upon final road tested ok.*** *** picked up car and returned the next day with the check engine light on againAt that point, the car was taken back to the shop where the technician spent the better part of the day retrieving and tracing new fault codes for the catalytic converter efficiency faults. Customer declined any further repairs

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
I was told when I picked up my car that the $in repairs I had would fix my car's issues and make it road worthyWe returned the vehicle the same day that I picked it up, within hours of receiving itThe check engine light turned on after driving it only a short distanceAfter looking at the car again, I was told it needed an additional $in repairs and was advised by BMW (Jofran) that the car was not worth repairing, as more engine issue codes might show upI would never have agreed to spend $for repairs knowing the car would need more work than what it is valued atI only went ahead with the initial repairs because I was told that this would make the vehicle road worthy
