When I had a fender bender I wanted to help out my local body shop (the one nearest me). Unfortunately it was this place. Let me just say this was by far and away the worst experience I've ever had with a business in my life, and that's no exaggeration. These guys make *** look competent by comparison. I was told the job would take 4-5 days. It took over a month. Cost me $1500 in car rental. They lied to my face at least 9 times. And I FINALLY got my car back and all of the electronics are messed up and my electric hatch doesn't work at all. I should have read the reviews before. I wont make that mistake again. Stay clear of this place. Absolutely awful. I would have given zero stars if I could have.
Called company number on Jan 21st to get a flatbed for Nashville to Lebanon. Gave extensive details of what and where. The flatbed was needed for an antique tractor instead of a car but was about the same weight but smaller. I also had a lawn mower that would easily fit on the flatbed.. It was agreed they would send flatbed at 10:00 AM. Buy 10:30 AM no one showed up. I called got another person. She had no record of my call. I asked her is she could get it. She said she would. Gave complete details again. She said they would be there in 30 min. After about 45 minutes flatbed arrived. Gave me an outrageous price of $375 because it was an antique tractor and not a car and did not charge for distance. He said it would be extra to move the lawn more. I declined because I originally told them about the mower. I was in a bind because I had sold the house and had to move it. After arriving and unloading the tractor, they charged $380 instead of the agreed price. This not a reliable company to keep its word and then add on extra charges for unknown reason.
MY DRIVER SHOWED UP ON TIME,THE COST WAS DISTANCE AND EQUIPMENT CHARGE SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE WE DO APPRECIATE YOUR BUSINESS WE DISCUSSED THE PRICE BEFORE ANYTHING GOT LOADED
The gentleman was verbally abusive, workmanship was horrible and later found unfinished, refused any payment other than cash, Cost us extra for rental
The body shop took in my vehicle under my understanding they could do engine work as well as the body work. They Never called us to say the vehicle was ready however they contacted the rental car company with a proposed date of completion ( and later lied about Doing so ) which cost me money out of pocket because the rental car company quit paying for the rental on the orooosed date and it was a week later ( after I reached out to them) that I found the additional charges for the rental . A gentleman named *** ( who wasn't the first person we dealt with because the original guy suddenly went on vacation leaving no no one in charge that knew anything about what was going on) was verbally abusive to me in front of my 6 year old son and family, they refused to take any form of payment other than cash and waited until after 5 pl on Friday ( after the rental was taken back ) to tell me this potentially causing me a weekend without a vehicle m actually went so far as to put my car on the tow truck "in case we had an extra key"
And after everything, the work done was terrible and the repairs were not even completed. And this cost me almost 4 thousand dollars and 2 weeks wait time
The return of the money spent (minus the cost of parts that can be salvaged) so I can have my vehicle properly repaired somewhere else
We appreciate you informing us about the customer who filed a complaint against Hillwood Wrecker Service & Body Shop. We have been in business for sixty-six years and it is not common for our company to receive a complaint. Our mission is to meet the needs and wants of the customers to create satisfaction and build trust.
The customer brought the vehicle in for auto-body repair and also mentioned that the vehicle was not running correctly. The body shop manager informed the customer that we only did body work, but would have it checked out by an outside mechanic. We repaired the vehicle based on the insurance companies estimate. (Please see the attached estimate). We sent the vehicle to *** to get the mechanical issues checked out since this is not in our area of expertise, The result from *** was the car needed a major tuneup and rack and pinion in addition to a busted motor mount that should to be replaced. Also, the vehicle needed brake pads on all 4 wheels, The vehicle has close to 200, 000 miles and purchased the vehicle used.
When the customer came in to pick up the vehicle, he was upset because we did not do "mechanical" work. Also, we did not call the rental company to tell them the vehicle was ready as he indicated in the complaint He also complained about some molding that was not repaired, but the insurance company did not cover this because it was not part of the accident. The manager called the insurance company and apparently the customer had been continuously calling them also, but they were not going to pay for the molding. If the customer wanted it repaired, then he would have to pay for it.
When the customer came in to pick the vehicle up, he informed us that the insurance check had been deposited into his checking account, Since another employee overheard that he was going to cancel the check he was going to write us, we required the customer to pay cash.
