In responce to this complaint, we installed roof in There were no leaks for a year until new siding was installed which he fails to mention in his complaintWe responded to the leak, and found the new siding was installed impropaly, When we offered to show the home owner the promblem he

Regarding this complaint, We never received a call about the leak due to the heavy rains of April 30th, 2014.  When a call is made to the office, we promptly send someone out to check the roof to see if there are any problems or issues.

response because: I have called the office on two occasions - once I spoke with Diane and once I left a voicemail.  No one got back to me regarding this matter.  Therefore, I believe that accepting this response provides me with no assurance that anyone will ever get back to me.  I have a signed contract with a warranty and have paid in full for the job.  I deserve to have someone come look at and repair the damage without jumping to conclusions beforehand.  The pipe was not damaged prior to the roof installation.

Review: Company was hired to replace a section of flat roof on my house. In the process the workers broke my plexiglas shield covering my Air Conditioning unit. I sent Chet an email descriping the situation and Diane called me to ask if I would like the of replacement of plexiglas or a $50 reduction off the bill. I chose replacement and I sent Janiec Roofing the full payment for the work performed. $1500. A couple weeks passed with a few communications with Diane and she stated Chet could not find a piece of plexiglas due to the thickness. I stated then just send me a check for $50. She stated instead of mailing me a check she would have someone drop the check off at my house. I contacted Chet two more times with no response. Now, it's over three weeks since the damage occurred and I have not received the check.Desired Settlement: Pls. send me a check for the $50 that was agreed to in lieu of the replacement of the plexiglas.

We have mailed out a check after request. We don't know if the check got lost, but we put stop payment on the check. After that, we dropped off a new check personally into his mailbox on 7/7/15.

Review: Janiec Roofing installed a new roof on my home on 6/10/15. I later discovered that the vent pipe on the second floor was broken, with debris on the floor and the sky visible. I called Janiec on 6/18/15 and requested that they send someone to take a look at the damage. I spoke with Diane. After not hearing from Janiec, I called back on 6/23/15 and left a voicemail message. I have not been contacted by anyone from Janeic Roofing to date to correct this matter. I am not satisfied with the service provided.Desired Settlement: I want Janiec Roofing to pay for me to have the damage repaired by the appropriate professional. Upon completion of the repair, should any additional work be required on the roof to make me whole, I want Janeic to complete that work promptly -within one week - and at no charge to me.

We installed the roof on 6/10/15. We don't know how it's possible that we broke a vent pipe a week later when we were not there, but we will gladly go look at the issue. Please call the office so we can set up a time when someone will be home.

Review: Janiec was hired to do a new roof, fascia, full gutters etc after superstorm Sandy. Their price was very high, but we were stuck & they seemed like a quality co. One day they did the roof, the next the gutters. They said they'd be back the following week to fix some things. They never came back, stopped returning calls, then months later scheduled an appt., called to say they needed us there earlier, but never showed! We called to inquire where they were & they said oh, we'll call back. We never heard back. The metal fascia was falling from the house, nails came out & old rusted ones were left in (we were told they used improper nails where they did actually replace), soffet was left pushed up, etc. There are tar footprints all over the new white roof, the pipe collars were supposed to be replaced but due to the messy job, we can't tell if old ones were just slopped over, one pipe collar seal wore away which can cause leaks, roof has bubbles, there was rotted wood left on & covered up which we found when fascia was repaired by another person we had to hire, not all fascia was replaced & old does not match new, our new grill cover was ripped & he said he would give us the $50 it cost, etc. Janiec states they give a 10 year labor warranty & 15 year material. The original proposal was taken from us & a new one given, we believe they differ. We had to pay someone to fix the falling fascia, soffets, gutters. It now makes us wonder if they did a quality job...is there really fire prove base sheet, ice/rain shield, is the roof secure, etc. How can we trust someone who conducts business this way?? We want our roof, gutters, etc fixed to the quality of the very high price we paid, as well as refunded the full amount we had to pay someone to fix the falling fascia, soffet & gutters, etc. We truly do not want them back, but they need to step up & do the quality they claim they are. Our 1st preference would be a refund so we can hire someone to do a proper job/repair all these issues.Desired Settlement: We'd like a refund or reimbursement we agree to. We truly dont want them back here, but these issues MUST be resolved!If roof is not sealed/secure we can have major issues. We also want cost ofull reimbursement for cost of what it cost us to repair falling fascia, soffets, gutters (have MANY pictures of their mess job). We want roof perfect (should have NO tar footprints on it, no bubbles in roof, pipe collars replaced, sealed properly, rain/ice shield, & fire prove, chimney flashing sealed, etc

In responce to this complaint, we were hired to do the roof,which we did. We installed a rubber torch down roof,not shingles, as requested by customer. rubber roofs will have tar marks and foot prints. as far as the aluminum facia, we were hired to replace aluminum trim that was bown off during storm. not entire house. we were not hired to do any soffit work. all new gutters were installed with hidden hangers and screws. If they felt our price was to high, they had the choice to hire another contractor. you can not renegotiate a contract a year after the job was completed.

I am rejecting this response because:

The business didn't address ANY of the issues & they've been aware of them since the day they were paid & for months. I'm not trying to "renegotiate a contract", that's a ridiculous arrogant statement on their part. Their statement "you can not renegotiate a contract a year after work was completed" is an outright lie. The roof & all the other work they did is NOT even a year old! These issues are nothing new to them, although their response would make one think it was. Since the day they were paid, they knew there were issues & when handed the check, stated they'd be back within 2 weeks. They never came, never called. At that time they also acknowledged to my mother that they damaged the new grill cover (there was a long piece of debris with a large nail sticking through it, causing it to rip) & said they'd pay us the $50 for it. I never got that either. I want a refund for the money I had to put out to pay someone else to fix the falling fascia (which Janiec did the new fascia, in fact the old fascia was shredded & torn up in Sandy & was a totally different size!). I was told they used the wrong type of nails & didn't seal anything which is why the fascia was falling. They weren't just hired & paid for a roof. There should be fire prov on, rain/ice shield, install new pipe collars (we can't tell if they did because one has seal all over & the other has seal wearing away which can cause leaks). They were to clean & remove debris (I cleaned most of it up...they left a lot of debris all over the property inc. nails, metal pieces, & cigarette butts--we don't smoke, they were). I also have a 10-year labor guarantee as well as 15-year material. They were to install new fascia & gutters. After ignoring our calls for months (we were told "he's busy" or totally ignored) they scheduled to come 6/11/13 & they called me that day to say they needed someone there within 45 minutes of their call (changing the originally scheduled time to earlier), so my mom rushed there to accommodate them. Hours later they still hadn't showed. I called them & they sounded like they didn't know who I was. They said they'd get back to us...never did. Our calls continued to be ignored or put off (he's busy). (we have some documented). I want a refund for the money I had to put out to pay someone else to fix the falling fascia, pushed up soffit (a result of their roof & gutter work), & gutter leaders were left to drain against foundation of house. I don't really want them back on the property with how we've been treated, but I paid them in full & they aren't holding their end. Something needs to be rectified. There are a few ripples in the roof (which can be a problem with the weather changes). We also found a piece of rotted wood had been covered up when the person hired to fix their mess actually fixed things. Our old roof didn't have tar footprints on it, as they state that is normal. They were paid their high asking price immediately & I have a right to have the issues resolved & guarantee upheld. I also have numerous photos. I paid one price, one check & it was to [redacted]. We don't appreciate being ignored & treated the way we have been. This has been an awful experience & we've been put through months of stress & inconvenience. Again, I really don't even want them on the property, but something has to be resolved with this & a reimbursement for the work I had to pay someone else to fix things, as well as the $50 for grill cover. This is an awful way to treat good customer & we've never been treated so horribly by a company.

On 4/4/13 [redacted] approached my mom for the check after the gutters were done. He had actually asked her for it on 4/3 & she said not until work was complete. She said he replied "you don't trust me?" She gave him the check on 4/4/13, made any issues she could tell known, & also asked him to sign "paid in full" on the hand written invoice we had, for my records. She said he told her "I need to do something", went to his truck, & returned with a different, typed invoice & handed that to her. With these issues, it made her wonder what was eliminated/changed from the one she handed him to simply sign "paid in full."

The typed copy that I have says:

*hang tarps to protect siding & shrubs

*Tear off existing roofing to decking

*change 3 sheets of plywood, $70 per sheet thereafter

*Install fire prov base sheet

*Install new GAF granulated rubber torch down roof. White

*Install new pipe collars. Flash where needed.

*Clean & remove all debris

*Permit supplied by Janiec

*10-year guarantee on labor

*15 year guarantee on material

*Gutters & leaders

*Fascia

*rain/ice shield is also supposed to be on (I understand it's law), but their actions make me wonder if these things were truly done (we wouldn't know unless the roof was taken off), esp. after uncovering rotted wood covered up by new fascia they did.

Review: Few years ago Janiec Roofing from Lodi, NJ replaced damage roof on my house in Clifton. Last year 2013 I had roof leaks in the bath on the second floor and dining room first floor. I called Janiec Roofing on phone number [redacted] with complains and ask about warranty repair. I spoke with secretary which ignored me. When I asked for the company owner`s phone number she refused. From January 2013 to June 2013 I called them every months but result was the same. I decided to go to [redacted] and ask for any advice. They told me to take Janiec Roofing to [redacted]. I made one more call to Janiec Roofing and I left message. After few minutes someone from the company called me and promised to take care about roof leaks. Next day I was visited by employee of Janiec Roofing. He did not find any leaks problems, he just told me about mistake with roof fan installation. I still have leaks. Few times I repaired bath ceiling, replaced light fixture. Today April 30 2014 after two days of heavy rain ceiling and wall in the bath on the second floor is damage again. Warranty on Janiec Roofing job is still active.

Review: I hire Janiec Roofing INC located in [redacted] to replace my roof on 9/1/2006 upon the signing of the contract it stated I will have 15yr guarantee on labor and 25 yr guarantee on material. On 2007, I reported a leak on my roof on heavy rains, well this is when my calls started to get ignored or they started to come up with excuses and pushing the date further. My calls started to become less because I was getting tire of chasing them and the leak did not happen often. But now on 1/2014, if I get a drizzle, rain, or snow the leak would occured. I ripped a hole in the ceiling to trace where the leak was coming from and to show Janiec there job was done wrong. The leak has been gonig on for so long that the wood rot that is why now the leak appears all the time.

This could of been prevented if Janiec would of taken action right away. Now I have a rotten roof, and a hole in my ceiling and Janiec refuse to return my calls or show up. I am planning to take legal action against this company.

I suggest anyone who planning to hire these guys to be cautious and wary, dont let their big equipment fool you. They promised me everything on the contract and have not honor one word. I did not pay for this headache.

I've been keeping a history of the phone call I have made since 2007, I've taken pictures of the damage and had several roofing contractors inspect the damage and obviously they all agree Janiec is at fault and responsible in fixing the problem.Desired Settlement: I want them to come and fix the problem as it should of been done from the start. I want to see good workmanship and if I they cannot give me this then reimburse the money I will pay the other contractor to fix it.

Instead of calling his siding installer, he chose to use social media to bad mouth my company. We welcome his legal action. We've been in business for 27 years we must know a little bit about roofing.!!
