I have been doing business with these people since They have always been fair and honestif repairs are going to be too expensive, they recommend buying new on Amazon

My husband stopped in early this summer inquiring about a used riding lawnmower Dave said he had one that had fallen off a lift, but wasn't currently working on it to repair unless he had someone to buy it My husband said he would buy it, and Dave said it would be a couple of weeks until he would be able to put it together for my husband to purchase I stopped in a few weeks later to check on the status, and was told he had not even looked at it It was then that he offered me another mower, similar in size but a older This was a mower he took in for repair, and when the customer didn't return his calls to take delivery, he decided he should just sell it to cover his cost for parts I told him I would think about it, and came back a few weeks later to see if it was still available and to inquire about the original mower The original mower still had not been started, and in fact, parts were used for the repair of another job I agreed to buy the second mower He was not able to deliver it that weekend, but I offered to pay for it if he could deliver it the following week I expressed concern that it may not be able to handle some of the steep terrain on our property When I paid and arranged for delivery, I asked him if I would be able to return it if it wouldn't be sufficient for our terrain He agreed and I paid him $cash He did not make delivery on the agreed upon day I sent a follow up email on August to ask when it would be delivered I never heard from him, and emailed again on August to tell him if it had not been delivered already, to just forget about it and I would come get my money back He said it had been delivered on August This is a summer home for us, and we weren't able to monitor this as closely as clearly was necessary A couple weeks later, my husband used the mower for the first time Not only did it not handle some of the steep parts of our terrain, but the belt broke before he even finished cutting the parts the mower could handle On Sept 7, I emailed him that belt broke after about minutes and that it couldn't handle our terrain so I would like him to pick it back up and return our money On Sept 16, I called him since I had not heard back from him via email I told him I had sent him an email asking about returning the mower He said he had not checked his email and no, I couldn't return the mower He asked me if I bought something at a rummage sale, would I try to return it? This wasn't a transaction at a rummage sale, it was a transaction with a business I felt comfortable when I made the purchase that if he said he would take it back if it didn't work well enough for our terrain, that he would honor that Apparently not I know now that I should have either asked for him to acknowledge a return option in writing, or better yet, not have had done business with him in the first place I assumed that he was an honest and legitimate business owner, but clearly that is not the case I would recommend for anyone to stay clear of doing business with him

+1

I have been doing business with these people since 2004. They have always been fair and honest. if repairs are going to be too expensive, they recommend buying new on Amazon.
