Lawn Doctor Dover-Rockaway

Review: I called the Lawn Doctor after seeing a coupon for $29.99. I spoke with the owner and explained that our yard was covered in weeds and we would like grass instead. He said that he would come out and do it for the coupon price $29.99 and if it didn't take, he would keep coming until we had grass. I made sure to ask him several times if we would be charged anything more than the initial $29.99 and every time his answer was no. So he came out the first time and left a bill for $45.37, when I called to ask him why it said that amount when it was supposed to be $29.99, he explained that the bills have a set price on them, to just disregard and send in the $29.99 plus the coupon which I did. I called a couple weeks later to tell him that there were no noticeable changes to our yard and he said he would treat it again. Now this time he left a bill/instructions in my mailbox for the amount of $45.37, which I disregarded because per our earlier conversation. Then he came out again and this time he talked to my husband, he never said that he expected anymore money from us, he just treated the lawn and left without even leaving any instructions or bill behind. He came again and told me while his worker was treating my lawn that I owed him money and why haven't I paid it, to which I explained that not only did I not receive a bill but we agreed on the $29.99 price and I never signed a contract for him to keep coming back. I told him to stop treating my lawn immediately but he refused. I told him that I was not paying him anything because that was not the deal. He said he would send me a bill in the mail but it never came. I received 3 calls in the past couple weeks from asking for money to which I told him that I owe nothing and I haven't even received a bill that he said he would send. On 9/23/13 he showed up at my door, demanding money on the spot and threatenging me with court if I don't pay immediately. He was aggressive and wouldn't leave. I called the police.Desired Settlement: , the owner and the man harassing me is now demanding even more money than he told me I owed the last time he was here. It went from "owing" $45.37 to now 'owing' $154.94. I have a copy of the check that shows that I paid the $29.99 for the first visit. I never signed a contract with him for him to keep coming out to treat my lawn. He told me that I wouldn't have to pay anything more than the initial $29.99 unless I decided to sign up for their program, which I never did. He is taking advantage of me and has gone too far by showing up at my door and threatening me. I am disabled and housebound so I cannot go to court to face this man and I refuse to pay him money that I don't owe. I would like this company to adjust my bill to show that I do not owe anything and I would like him to never come here again. I called the Lawn Doctor Headquarters but they said that there is nothing that they can do because he is independently owned.
