This is in response to the complaint from *** ***. When they called they wanted a wedding reception for people for about $3000, they were told they could have either drop off food or a very simple menu with minimal staffing
enough to change pans in the chafing dishes and clear plates and the staff would help with other duties as time allowedThe ***s expected the servers to serve salads, bartend (they did not hire any bartenders), restock hors d'oeuvres (not provided by CFH) in to minutes. For all of the duties they expected the staff to do they would require a full staff times the staff they had - which they were not willing to pay forWhile the servers where trying to do all of this the mother of the groom moved the whole time line up minutes only adding to the problem
Any problems at this event were caused by there lack of budget and there unrealistic time line, the ***s had a very tight budget which I worked with - but what I did not know was there unrealistic expectations the ***s had I had already discounted there meal by 3.25 per person to fit this very small budget. In the end they received exactly what they paid for a $per person Inclusive wedding receptionIn closing CFH is still not offering any discounts or refunds on this event

To start off, I must correct *** on mattersOur last name is ***He refers to us on his contracts as “***” and in correspondence to you as “***” In his reply to you he implies that there were one hundred and eighty people at my wedding and the price was around $The contracted amount was for $and the amount of people at my wedding was one hundred and sixtyMr*** has stated that the groom’s mother pushed up the time line for serving by minutesI ask Mr*** to present any evidence he may have to support that commentMr***’s employees were behind schedule- we couldn’t and wouldn’t ask them to shave off another minutes
I make these points because *** *** has proven to be a person who pays little or no attention to detailIronically, successful wedding receptions are all about detailAnd he is a person that when he gets caught “forgetting” important details he is willing to be less than honest and forthright
*** sat in my mom's kitchen and told three of us what he was going to do for my weddingHe stated that his staff of people would easily be able to serve food to our guests, set out appetizers and keep the bar stockedI never asked *** for better pricing I told him how much I could spend and he told me what he would doHe never implied I was not spending enough money to do it right, in fact, he kept telling us how perfect things would beIn reality many of my friends and family members (including my Mom and Dad) had to step in and help his staff serve guests, put out appetizers and stock the barMy friends and family spent hours helping his staff instead of enjoying my weddingOut of his three staff members, 2, including the manager were difficult to deal withThe third person had a great attitude, however he had a scraggly beard and was missing front teethIf I saw a wedding reception like this in a movie it would be kind of funnyTo experience it personally was more like a horror movie
*** brought food samples to our home that were very goodUnfortunately the samples did not come close to representing the food that he served at my weddingAgain, we were misledIt was a clear case of bait and switch
*** *** did not honor his agreement with me*** *** blatantly misrepresented what he would do for usI feel that I could easily ask for the entire $backHowever, the damage that he did on my wedding day can really never be undone for any amount of moneySo, I am asking for a percent refund because it is a way for *** to admit that he was wrong and demonstrate some remorse for how he handled this matterMany of our friends and family members who witnessed this catering fiasco are wondering why Chefs for Hire is taking so long to settle this matterOur first request for a refund was on 08/28/
