Customer droped off his Charger with a complaint "drivers" side air-con not workingWe are required to quote a
dollar amount to investigate, diagnose and report our findings $We advised after testing the system, there were possibly other components failingThere is no software update for this repair,as our computer would not allow any updates, it could be a control head, or possible recir actuators.The customer was advised it would take more time to determine and he declined at that pointWe stopped, as we were not authorized to go further, without his authorizationHe is responsible for the original diagnositc feeWe needed more time, which increases the diagnostic cost He said noCar was released not fixed
And we do not feel he is due a refund, as the time spent on his vehicle is consistent with a diagnostic charge and not a repair

The service advisor did tell me that it would take more time to diagnose the problemHowever he also stated that the ran additional test to make sure that there diagnostic computer was working correctlySo they ud my money and time to determine if there computer lap top was working suffientlyAlso I asked the service advisor how long do the test takeHe avoided the questionThen his response after a moment was the mechanics run the test.before taking it to there companyMy mechanic at reliance auto care in pittsburg ca, advised me that it's only a couple minutes test to figure out the problem and that he don't have the program to fix problemSo I ask again why did they run test on my car, and why did they, charge me time for diagnosing there laptop computer on my carThey as a dealer should know there equipment is correctTherefore to additional test is wrongIt's padding there book to get that minimum you signed for on the paper regardless of the determination of your car
