Hired Midwest Restorations to work with my insurance company after my adjustor came out and said there was no damage. They set up a reinspect with my insurance company met the insurance adjustor at my property and pointed out the damage. They then negotiated with my insurance company for an entire new roof. Could not be happier with the process. I received a new roof for no money out of pocket. Professional company, I have recommend to several friends.

Midwest Restorations Response • Jun 30, 2020

John,
I enjoyed speaking with you in your house. Midwest is very happy you enjoyed the insurance process.

This is the worst company that you could possibly hire. Please run and run fast. Don't make the same mistake that I made. A costly one for sure.

We hired MWR, Inc to replace our roof after a nasty hail storm a while back because they were friends of the family. At the time, they were easy to deal with. It has now been TWO YEARS, and the work has still not been completed. I asked Mark, the owner, for a refund for the work that was not done. He has since stopped communicating with us. Now researching this company, it was a mistake to go with them in the first place. Don't hire this company. Do your research. This was an expensive lesson learned.

just now-Edit
They were scheduled to show up August 19th thru August 23. They called August 23 and said they couldn't get to it till August 24. They didn't come. I asked for my 2400 dollars back I gave as a deposit. Mark *** the owners husband refused and then said they would be back Labor Day weekend to do the work. They beat up my gutters. *** was who put them in. They wanted 825 dollars to repair the job. They Mark *** refused to pay. After I reported him to *** they agreed to pay me the 825 dollars. *** did a background check on Susan *** his wife who he put the company's name in. Do a background check on Mark ***. You will find things like this. The company is in her name only to cover up who and what they are
***
They are crooks. Mark has 17 liens against his home. He runs the company. They put it in her name so they could do ***.

Siding was put on my House in ***. After the work was completed. the Metal door trim on my front door is lifting and have damaged my front door.
On *** I received the final invoice # *** from *** with a balance due of ***. Once the work was completed and all visible errors were communicated they were paid the remaining above balance by check. In ***, my front screen door started making loud noise, the metal trim that was installed under the screen door was not installed to the edge, therefore, started rubbing up against my screen door tearing off the rubber at the bottom of the screen door to prevent air and bugs from getting in or out. I contacted ***, sending him pictures on ***, *** (five pictures) and phone calls on ***, ***, ***, ***. I eventually tried to fix this myself by nailing this piece down that needed over 10 nails. My screen door was is faded in color but worked excellent, now it will no longer lock or latch while closed. Today *** I placed a call to the owner of the company, ***, I left a courtesy message advising that I would be reaching out to the Revdex.com. Every call that I have previously made to *** appeared to be a conversation just to get me off the phone and nothing is never done. I have copies of emails and checks in which I wrote to pay for the services.

Desired Outcome

This is a small job and should take no longer that 30 minutes. I would like this metal trim placed on properly and also, i would like the rubber to be replaced at the bottom of my screen door. If the rubber at the bottom of my door can not be repaired then I would like it be replaced or compensated.

Juvita was not calling our office number she was calling a number off of the Revdex.com website that does not exist. We have tried updating our numbers with the Revdex.com several times and no changes have been made. She was fixed upon getting the correct numbers immediately and extremely happy with the results.

Work already done, just hailed 2 weeks ago. Meet the insurance adjustor didn't take a down. Haven't even seen check from insurance company yet. Offered to start immediately. Recommending all my neighbors.

Thank you for you positive review! It was a pleasure working with you on your project.

We had hail damage to our roof and hired this company to replace the roof. One year later we had water leak. MWR is refusing to fix it.
MWR replace roof in ***. In *** we noticed water stains on ceiling(at center of roof). Contacted MWR and with much hesitation, they sent a man out to caulk around a skylight. I told him the leak was at the peak of the roof, which is much higher than the skylight. Then the owner of MWR, ***, told me that the ridge vent they used is not made to withstand heavy rain with driving winds. And that those kind of rains are rare and probably won't happen again. That if it leaks again to contact him.
It is leaking more and I have been trying to contact MWR for over a month and they will not return my messages.I had another roofing contractor come out and look at the roof. He recommended removing the ridge vent and seeing how it was installed. He said that is the only way to determine the problem.

Desired Outcome

I want MWR to remove the ridge vent along the main center section of the house. I want another independent roofing contractor there to determine how it needs to be repaired, once it is opened up. Then I want MWR to repair it properly with the independent roofing contractor overseeing the repair. I want MWR to pay for the independent roofing contractor's costs.

We have spoken to Mr. along with the salesman. We tried to meet him at his property over 2 weeks ago however he is in ***. He wants to wait until *** when he gets back before he allows us to fix the leak. We did send a repairman out last year who looked over the ridge calked it and calked the skylight. This is the first we have heard from him in over a year about this issue. If it continued to leak, we did not receive calls. He also is friends wit his salesman and he had not received a call since we were out last year up until a week or so ago. We our more than happy to honor our warranty like we did last year.

Customer Response • Apr 15, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I appreciate that MWR says they will come back and honor their warranty. The fact that Ms. response claims that they are "more than happy to honor our warranty like we did last year" makes me skeptical. They were not "more than happy" to honor their warranty last year when I called. After many, many, many attempts to get ahold of anyone at MWR, I finally received a call back. I was told that ridge vents leaks are "normal with wind driven rain" and that if it leaks again to let them know. They would not come out to fix anything until then. Again, after many more attempts to reach MWR by phone, they agreed to send out an expert to look at the roof. I met the "expert" at the house at he told me this was his very first day on the job with MRW and that he is NOT a roofer. He is just a handyman. He did not look inside at the water stains to see where the leak was coming from. He got on the roof and said the problem was the skylight. He caulked the skylight (only). He did nothing with the ridge vent, which is where I think the water leak is coming from.
I did not feel that caulking the skylight was a real fix to any roofing problem. If it is leaking from the skylight, then it was improperly flashed. Caulking is a temporary fix. I explained this to *** at MWR but he refused to do anything more. Again I was told that if the roof leaked again that they would fix it, but refused to do anything else until then. I felt he was putting a bandaid on the problem until his warranty expires.

No one from MWR has ever looked inside the house to see the water stains

Since I wrote my original complaint, I did receive a call from ***, the owner of MWR. He agreed to come back to the house a take care of the problem. Unfortunately I am out of town and do not want this warranty work to be do without supervision. MWR has agreed to do this in *** when I am back in town.

This is a great company. I have used midwest restorations for many of my own properties and as a business owner I want to thank this company for keeping their word and always delivering what I asked for which has increased my property values. So many people dont realize that this is a platform to thank businesses in our community for a job well done!

Midwest Restorations Response • Oct 15, 2018

Thank you for your review and for choosing Midwest restorations on your own business ventures. We look forward to working with you on future projects!

Midwest Restorations was the 2 exterior company we have dealt with. By far, much more professional and responsive. We had an extreme amount of concrete work done and was pleasantly surprised at workmanship and pride their workers had. If fact due to all the rain the total project took 4 weeks to complete but we did have 2 weeks of every 36 hours we had rain. So the workers came on a Sunday to do some tie up projects. I would recommend Kevin their estimator to anyone at any time.

Thank you for your polite words! It is always great to hear from our happy customers! We hope you enjoy your new patios, stairs, and drive way for years to come. Thank you for your business and understanding. Again we appreciate the review!

The work was 6-8 weeks late in it's start time, and after nearly a full year, it still isn't completed. Work was contracted to total just under $6,000 to which we have paid in full, however they continue to send us invoices for over $1,200 every couple months. They don't actually do any of the work themselves, just sub-contract to the lowest bidder, and the work shows. The roof looks like a child did it, and our siding has holes all over it from the gutter installation. Legal proceedings are about to begin so that we can have an actual competent contractor do the work.

Midwest Restorations Response • Sep 19, 2018

Sam,
We are sorry that you are upset with the workmanship however this is the first time we are hearing any of these concerns. Yes we our owed on the main roof and the gutters and downspouts. Per the contract we are to be paid upon completion of each trade. We still have not been paid on the roof in full. On your good word we proceeded and did the gutters and downspouts. We have not been paid in full on the roof and did not receive any money on your gutters and downspouts. We would be happy to come and do a walk off if you have concerns but you mention receiving invoices every month for the past year and this is your first attempt to communicate with our office by complaining online. Please call the office to schedule a time for a walk off *** so we may finalize up our open invoices.

Thanks again for your business,
Midwest. Restorations

Customer Response • Sep 19, 2018

This is not the first time I have expressed my concerns about the work, just the first public posting. As your company clearly doesn't notate accounts when customers call in, I will only be willing to work with your company to resolve this issue via email, so that I have written records of what is discussed. To that effect, I have sent several emails over the past 6 months to try for a resolution, yet I have recieved no replies. I will await a reply from my most recent email before I take any further steps.

Midwest Restorations Response • Sep 19, 2018

You must have the wrong email. We have received no emails or phone calls and we do note the files every time someone calls or emails. Best email is ***. Again we have been sending you invoices for over a year per your complaint. Without a call or email how are we to proceed on a job we have not been paid on? We look forward to your email and finalizing this project and open invoice up.

Customer Response • Sep 20, 2018

I used the email address your company provided on the invoices, per Mark. And Mark is the person that I spoke with several times, so clearly not all employees are noting accounts. I will forward the emails I sent previously to the new address you just provided when I get back home.

Midwest Restorations was paid $*** to install architectural shingles on the house and garage but instead installed a lesser quality single.
This company came to our house after we requested contractors for our roof replacement per the *** website and Midwest Restorations responded on ***. ***, their claims specialist, convinced us that the insurance would pay for our storm damage. So we signed a paper stating that if the insurance paid the claim, they would do the work. Big mistake! Once the paper was signed, we researched the company to find mostly negative reviews. Our gut instinct was to use a different company but knew they may have a binding contract. Our insurance company did cover the claim. The roofers showed up at our house (without a phone call warning us) on *** and just started doing the work. The gutter guys did the same thing. Absolutely no warning they were coming. The work on both were satisfactory until we realized when *** came back on *** to collect the second check for $*** that they had put the wrong shingles on both the garage and house. Midwest Restorations submitted paper work to our insurance company that they put architectural shingles on the house and garage but instead put on a cheaper shingle. We don't believe *** would have said anything if we hadn't mentioned it first. Six weeks later and 3 phone calls and 2 payments totaling $*** and no one will tell us when the upgraded shingles will be installed. We have yet to speak to *** aka *** (one of the owners). PLEASE do not make the same mistake we did in hiring this company. All of the negative reviews are true!

Desired Outcome

We would like the architectural shingles installed on both the house and garage ASAP. The drip edge was also to be replaced on both the house and garage which was never done.

Fast friendly service great warranty included I was very happy with the out come of the final product.

Thank you Mr. for your business and review of our company!

I had them come out after the storm last year and inspect my roof from hail damage> my insurance ended up doing a re-inspection with the contractor at my property, at the end of the day the insurance ended up paying for all of my roof, gutters, and downspouts. I had Midwest do the work which turned out well happy with my choice in contractors.

The guys were fast and friendly. Very smart Foreman. They did my roof in 1 day. I couldn't believe how fast they got everything done once they started. Called a few times for updates but they always let me know what was going on with my material and scheduling.

Thanks you for you business!

I used Midwest back when the 2015 hail storm hit and used them again in 2017 when my house was hit with hail again. Great company. I had to have an electrical company come an fix a wire on my roof. Even though It wasn't there fault they went ahead and deducted the electric bill from my invoice. Very good customer service.

Thank you for the positive input and for your business! It was a pleasure working with you!

Hired Midwest to perform hail restoration work on my house and on my rental. Did a great job on my house met the adjuster and settled claim. On my rental insurance was only going to buy 2 sides of siding on my house. After talking with bill my representative with Midwest he clipped a piece of siding, sent it to a siding match company and we found out it was unmatchable. At that point Midwest contacted my insurance and insisted they buy the entire house siding and they did. Thanks to Midwest I have an entire new exterior on my rental property. Would recommend this company to all my friends and have.
