I had an AUTHORIZED visitor at my home on July 30, 2018. Moore's Towing UNLAWFULLY towed the vehicle. They also violated O.C.G.A. Section 44-1-13. Section 44-1-13 states thae following:
The conspicuously-posted notice also must tell you:
where you can recover your vehicle;
the cost to recover your vehicle (towing fees and storage costs); and
what types of payment are accepted.
The sign DOES NOT LIST STORAGE COST, the sign DOES NOT LIST WHAT TYPES of PAYMENTS are accepted which is a violation of Georgia Law.
The notice also states customer parking only - they were an AUTHORIZED VISITOR on my property and made me pay $175 to recover my vehicle.
Billing Adjustment I need a refund of $175
Moore's Towing impounded the vehicle that *** has the complaint on. We have a contract with the HOA where *** lives at and they are the ones that contacted our company to remove the vehicle. The HOA has the authority
to have any vehicle removed if in violation of their ordinance. They contacted us and we removed the vehicle. We have signs posted on the property stating all of our information.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Moore's Towing VIOLATED Georgia Law. Their signs are NOT PER THE LAW and they state unauthorized vehicles can be towed. The vehicle was AUTHORIZED. If the vehicle was unauthorized than I could see there might be an issue but PER GEORGIA LAW it states MOORES Towing MUST post certain items on their signs and they have failed to do that. Also it states customer parking - THIS IS NOT A BUSINESS - this is a private residence and the vehicle was parked in front *** my home, partially on my property.
Again MOORES VIOLATED GA LAW. Because of that I should have a refund, second they illegally towed my car.
