February 1st, 2017I received a call from *** and he made me aware of the situation regarding a price increase on his projectI promptly called the fabricator who installed the counters to find out what happenedHe (the fabricator) assured me it had nothing to do with IGM and that it would be
taken care of; IGM is a wholesale operation and we do not discuss any form of pricing with homeowners, we pass along any selection made by the homeowner to the fabricator so the job can be priced accordinglyAfter each of the visits that this customer made we faxed all information over to our customer to make them aware of what they were looking at so *** *** can price the job out based on what they looked at each visitUnfortunately, in the wholesale end of the industry, granite and marble slabs cannot be categorized into 'classes' due to each fabricator(s) markups and number of 'classes'The best we can do is guide the homeowner into high, medium, and low levels in terms of pricingIt is then up to the customer and fabricator/contractor to negotiate pricing after selections are made here at our facility, IGM is not selling the material directly to the homeowner(s), if the price of a material fall into the customers' allocated budget it is the duty of the fabricator/contractor to alert the homeowner that there would be a price changeWe are simply acting as an extension to our customer(s) (fabricators, i.e*** *** *** *** ***) inventory, and do not sell directly to the homeownerConsumer Fraud is a very serious accusation, and for this customer to declare IGM of something this serious is something we do not take lightly
