NW Green Panels Reviews (%countItem)

Beautiful but incredibly flawed and terrible customer service
February 2023: The greenhouse I purchased and had installed by Northwest Green Panels (NW Green Panels, NWGP) is absolutely gorgeous. AND if I had it to do all over again, I would have built a hoop house with PVC pipes and greenhouse plastic—and saved myself tens of thousands of dollars and a huge amount of stress.

If you’re looking for a company that ignores your questions and requests for help for months, then tries to blame the problems on you, and when that doesn’t work becomes abusive, aggressive, and outright threatens you, NW Green Panels is the company to hire.

However, if you want a greenhouse that works as it should, where the vent lifters open at an appropriate temperature, you should keep shopping. Per the owner he “invented” how the vent lifters work so don’t expect them to work as the manufacturer describes or to be open at a temperature lower than the high 90’s.

Do you want a greenhouse where the roof doesn’t leak like a sieve, and where gallons of water don’t pour down the inside of the walls, and where all the plywood panels don’t begin delaminating and molding within a week after the first rain? You should look elsewhere.

Also, if you buy at a show and get “free” installation then know the owner considers this a “free perk” and the company has no need to “meet your expectation of a free item” (yes, those are actual quotes). The owner also tried to blame the issues on an “inexperienced installer” (who he sent out twice) but never once offered any assistance to fix the issues.

And then the cherry on top? If you want a company whose owner tells you how abused he feels because society hates white men (read into that what you will—you won’t be wrong), then go ahead and hire NWGP.

At the very least, I recommend you do NOT pay off your balance until you are sure it is built and functions as promised. If your experience is like mine, you will need to invest thousands of extra dollars to get something that actually functions. I’ve got an entire year invested in this nightmare project—I hope you can learn from my experience.

This is not an exaggerated review. If you want more details, feel free to reach out.

Update 3/29/23: It just keeps getting better (NOT)! 8 months after installation one of the double paned glass windows has failed--water between the panes. Also, there is ONE rule about installing double walled polycarbonate panels: NEVER install it horizontally. Guess what? all 24 linear feet of my ridge is installed horizontally which will grow mold if the water inside the channels doesn't freeze and burst them first. Avoid this company.

Love my greenhouse & chicken coop! Bought them last year at the Eugene home show. Great experience all the way through: from our first initial contact all the way through install. Customer service is Superior! The owner, Jeff was readily available to answer any questions as well as Kody and Chris. The quality is very impressive! I would highly recommend this company!

We bought our first greenhouse six years ago and loved it so much that when we recently moved we bought another one! In the six years we owned our first greenhouse, we never had a problem. Amazing quality!! Love love love this company! From start to finish they are a joy to do business with! The owner is very hands on and always available to answer any questions, customer service is obviously a top priority! If you want a greenhouse this is The company to buy from!

The greenhouses are very cool. We made our purchase at an Alaska Home Show. I was concerned about snow load and the owner, Jeff, showed us pictures of greenhouses under snow load in bend. Our agreement was, "if you can guarantee it against an Alaska snow load and get it to me by the beginning of June 2019 for our growing season you got a deal." From there it went downhill. In July my wife wanted out because of the first broken promise. We did receive it but not in time to use in 2019. It then collapsed that winter. I notified them in March and we agreed we would hold off until May to take inventory and see what is needed to repair. I sent them close up photos early May with the same request, please please please get this out so we don't lose a second growing season. Oh, and have he owner call me. May turned into June, and June turned into July. I was beginning to get frustrated but they assured me it would be shipped Monday, apologized and blamed the shipping issue on Covid. OK, tough to fault someone for that. Still no call from Jeff, he "was busy." When the shipment arrived it did not have all the necessary parts. Now I'm mad. Their first response was to tell me it was all there. I finally did an inventory of the entire shipment to show them it was not. They again apologized and I asked one final time to have Jeff call me. Nothing. So for the first time I put a picture of our collapsed greenhouse on FB with a very fair review. "Cool design but didn't handle an Alaskan snow load." Fair right? Well, I got the call from the owner. It was to chew my as for putting that review out there. He, the owner, was yelling at me, the customer. Not even one time did he apologize for our experience. After telling me how hard he works, how little I know about business because my small business wasn't even close to the same, and how I "lost leverage when I put a social media review out there," he hung up on my wife. Then sent me a text saying he would not longer speak to us and only communicate through email. That's fine, I would not want to talk to him like that again, ever. Only problem is he won't even respond now. So we are left with a collapsed greenhouse, correct parts supposedly on the way, and an owner who will not respond and apparently telling his crew to do the same. I was, and still am, shocked at this experience. As I said, really cool design and I hope we can figure it out, get it repaired, and begin using it 3 growing seasons later.
