Review: In addition to providing notes when I made my online reservation that I will be applying a $150 gift card to my order, I also called Choice Hotels customer support to be sure everything was okay. When I called customer support, they put me on hold while they called the hotel directly. When I was taken off hold, the customer support employee informed me that she was able to speak with a supervisor at the hotel ([redacted]) and he was aware I will be using the gift card and everything is all set. When I arrived at the hotel on Friday, they were very much aware of my gift card. They took the gift card and made a photocopy of it and told me their manager would have to apply it to my reservation in the morning when a manager was there. When I checked out of the hotel the next day, I asked the receptionist if the gift card was applied yet and I was told they would be doing it that afternoon. 4-5 days later when I discovered my Citizens account was charged the full amount, I repeatedly tried calling the hotel with no luck that they applied the gift card. Every time I asked for a manager I was told either he is not there or they would forward me to his office phone number which had a full voicemail box. It is clear to me now the hotel is avoiding this situation all together and very likely they aren’t charging my gift card for the $150. My only other option was to file this claim with Citizens. This hotel does not care about it's guests whatsoever. Because of this, I am done staying at any choice hotel. I also am calling the city hall or state office in order to find out the information on the owner of this property and let he or she know what is going on at this hotel. I feel as though the manager of this establishment needs to be disciplined or maybe even fired for the way he handles his guests.Desired Settlement: Please refund my credit card the $150 you wrongly took from me. I suffered an overdraft fee and had no money to myself for a day as a result of this. I drove to work with my low fuel light on and was scared I wasn't going to make it home. Luckily, my mother was able to inconveniently take time out of her day to go to my bank and get money in my account for me to cover the overdraft fee and give me some money to get by. She was going on a vacation that weekend and needed that money so it was very inconvenient that she had to give me some money right before leaving for a vacation.
