Service Master Clean of Columbia

On 7/27/we received a call from the claimant about water damage...we went out that night around 930pm to provide emergency services as I have done for over yearsThe claimant son of had been washing his hands in the 2nd level bath and the Mother yelled for him to come down stairs so they
could leaveHe failed top shut the water off resulting in water damage on levels but did not affect the kitchen areaWe dried on this loss for approxdays with the dehumidifier set up like it was and like we always set them upOn August 2nd aT 815am I received a text from the customer stating that when she went to bed the dehumidifier drain line that was wrapped around the faucet and put into the right side of the sink had somehow flipped out of the sink and drained some water on the counterI texted her back and said no worries, we are already there with equipment, so we will just move some over to that area for you to dry it..we will help you! Remember, I have been doing this for over years...the same way I immediately sent my operations mgr to the house to check and take care of the loss she had. He got there and the hose had supposedly moved down the counter top about 2', unwrapped from around the faucet 2' and come out of the sink drain....A few things about this....First: When the dehumidifier was set for the original loss from above, I myself put it in the right sink side because the left sink has the disposer in itUpon arrival there were dishes that filled the entire right sinkSo someone had moved my drain hose from the sink or at least messed with it...Second: After the customer accused the equipment of being the source and reason for the problem we had a meeting with managers and our employees....one of our techs, *** *** who knew nothing about this loss, and is a military veteran stated and has written a statement in case this goes to court, said that the husband on August 3rd told him outside of the house in the drive that his kids keep kicking the drain hose out of the sink and asked *** to tape secure it somehowWe cannot control what people do in their own homesIf their kids kept kicking the hose out and moving our equipment around we cannot control that eitherThirdly...in regards to the customers accusation that the dehumidifier has enough pressure to "blow out" of the sink....I contacted the manufacturer, ** *** *** *** Tech support along with approxother franchises about this....THIS IS TOTALLY IMPOOSIBLE as there is not enough pressure to even measureI have video, photos etc of this dehu draining along with others of the same size etc and the drain hoses do not move even if they are laying in a bucket of water at the top of the bucketThis is impossible. From Phoenix Drying Manufacturer which is who made the dehumidifier....*** *** Sep 20to me I got your answer from one of our engineers. “The flow pressure with no restriction is almost zeroWith the line shut off the max pressure is psi.” Is the exact response I got.*** This is consistent from everyone I spoke too I have tried to attached a photo of the same dehu and drain line sitting in a bucket full to the brim with water and the dehumidifier is draining into the bucket....The line never moves and does not shoot water anywhere or come out of the bucketI am happy to provide more video of the same dehu used on the job to show the drain does not move and I can show you the same on any dehumidifier as they all drain the same way with the same result. The fact of the matter is, we went to the customers rescue for this and didn't even charge for the additional drying trying to help them outThat cost is $2,563.13. I refused to send them a bill even though they told me too just to help them outNot because I felt guilty or thought that it could be our faultSimply did it to help After a week had passed and after I thought that they understood and knew what really happened, I received a call from the husband who I had never met. He immediately started to hurl threats at me and m company. He TOLD me that I was going to turn in a claim to my business insurance. I told him I was not going to do that as the dehumidifier does not have enough pressure to do what you are sayingHe told me that that was ** and that I was going to turn in a claimI again said NO I was notHe then proceeded to tell me twice that his wife, the one that made this complaint was " ALL over social media, and that if I did not take care of this that she was going to SLAM MY *** ALL OVER SOCIAL MEDIA"I told him that that would not be a wise decision as that would be considered liable and slanderI also told him that if he was going to have her do this, that I would simply go to my attorneys office and file suit for slander and liableThis must be the threat she is saying I madeIt was not a threat, it was a fact that if they chose to do this and lie, I would have no choice but to defend myselfThe husband did calm down some after that....I calmly explained to him that what she is saying happened did not happen and proceeded to explain to him why, and I told him that he could contact not only the manufacturer but that he could also contact my home office in Memphis and speak to them directly about this situation and get the proof for himself that it is impossible for the dehu line to blow out of anything. We hung up and things were left there. I never sent them a bill which I am contemplating doing at this point since I am still having to deal with something that We nor our equipment did. SO, to reiterate...1) almost an unmeasurable amount of pressure comes from the drain lineNot even enough to move the hose when in water or laying loose.2)The husband told one of our employees that his kids keep kicking the hose out of the sink and will gladly testify in court to this
