Just had a horrible experience at Seth Tobin Jewelers. Once again I am blown away with the horrible service in this town! 2 months ago I dropped off a box chain necklace to be extended. He told me no problem it will take 2 weeks. 4 weeks later I called to make sure he hadn't lost my number. Nope, he didn't. He is just really backed up. Ok I said, no problem he 'd call me when it was ready. 1 month later.......he calls, "your chain is ready". Great I say!! I go down and what does he give me? My chain attached to a bigger gauge box chain! It looks like garbage! His wife says O, well no one will notice. He didn't even center my chain to the new bigger piece. It's attached off to one side so it is even more obvious the sizes isn't matched ( the link was made in the middle of the chain). I told him I wasn't happy. He said he would order in a new full length chain at the size I wanted. His wife says, O sorry he is really busy he works seven days a week! He feels bad. They call me back 20 min later, we can't get a chain at the length you want, your original chain is back to normal come get it. WHAT? you have got to be kidding me!? (in my head)
I tell her I'm really disappointed with the level of service. I can't believe Mr Tobin would put his name on such workmanship! This is his craft, his lively-hood! That I understand problems can arise but they should have called me so we could come up with a solution. I told her that if this was how they wanted to treat their clients I was going to share my experience. She hung up on me. WOW! Mr Tobin calls back. I explain how I feel. He comes up with lame excuses. Takes no ownership and just mildly argues with me. I Tell him that he should communicate with his clients if there are issues that I felt he puked the work together to get rid of me because he was "so busy" and that I was blown away that he was comfortable putting his name on such workmanship!

So much for supporting local!
