I have spoken to both the team leader of this office and to our Billing department regarding this error We apologize as this account was mistakenly sent to soft collections (does not effect credit rating) due to an ongoing appeal with the insurance company The team leader was asked to
reach out to the insurance for an update on the appeal and report the findings to the patient This account was taken out of Transworld Systems immediately and flagged to not be billed while we await the insurance company's decision We also received a cease and desist enacted by the patient to Transworld Systems, however the account had already been pulled We sincerely apologize for this error and will use it for additional training for several departments I appreciate your candor and bringing this to our attention We want to ensure that all patients are given adequate notice prior to being sent to Transworld when they have a valid balance As this balance is still subject to possible insurance payments, this account should not have been sent Please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss this further We are sorry causing this frustrating error

outstanding balances do change depending on what the insurance will cover and not coverShe does technically still owe us from her treatment she had done back in but due to this complaint we will write this off

We are really sorry to hear that the details of the service the patient received weren't made clear That should have happened Our standard of care is that following Gum Infection Therapy (Scaling and Root Planing) a patient is put onto a periodontal maintenance schedule of three
to four months This is typically the standard of care with most dental professionals Our patient did receive the Gum Infection Therapy (6.3.2013) and had two periodontal maintenance cleanings (& 5.27.2014) The balance not collected from the last periodontal maintenance in May was billed to the patient monthly, after amble attempts to collect this account was sent to Transworld Systems Based upon the notes from the hygienist and the periodontal probing depths, we believe the correct code and service was rendered However, we have subsequently worked to rectify the issue and the lack of clarity of the services rendered to the patient by removing this account from Transworld Systems and writing on the balance on the account Please accept our apologies for failing to explain why each subsequent visit after Gum Infection Therapy would not be considered a regular cleaning Regular cleanings only occur with patients that do not have periodontal disease I hope that this adjustment of the full fee is agreeable Don't hesitate to reach out if we can assist in any way
