This is in response to the complaint by *** ***. I have had several conversations with this patient regarding this issue. The patient came to our office with a variety of issues. Some were of medical necessity and one was of cosmetic nature. That patient opted to have the
cosmetic procedure done at the time of the office visitHe also had the medical necessity issues taken care of at the same time(These are billed to the insurance company) Waivers explaining the procedures, financial responsibility, and complications were signed by the patient. Break down of billing by Tri-County Dermatology Office visit-$136Biopsy-$131.00 Both of which were billed to his insurance company but was left towards his deductible. Leaving him a balance of $265.00. OPTIONAL cosmetic procedure that the patient opted for $137.00This was paid at the time of service. The charges are correct and no refund is due to this patient for the services that were rendered and PROPERLY billed. If I can be of further assistance, feel free to contact me at *** *** Thank You, MelisaManagerTri-County Dermatology

I am rejecting this response because:The doctor's office had me sign a form acknowledging that my insurance would NOT be billed!  When I was quoted the price of $137.00 for the cosmetic procedure I was told that that was the standard fee, regardless of how many skin tags/moles were removed.  I did not have 2 separate procedures!  They used the same razor blade and same syringe for all the sites, and it took all of 5 minutes.  It is not fair for me to pay out of pocket and to then charge my insurance for the same thing.

For full documentation see attached files.)To Whom It May Concern:Regarding complaint ID #[redacted].On the day that this complaint was filed, I was in contact with the customer regarding the billing issue. There was a problem with my voice mail system and...

apparently her messages were left in a mailbox that I had no access to and was not aware of. I contacted our phone system company and have had this issue resolved. I made the customer aware of this. However, this issue is still not resolved because at this time, we are waiting for the customer to get back to us regarding the correct insurance information. Her initial thought about her insurance has changed and we were in fact, given the wrong information initially and are awaiting a response regarding this correct information. This account has not been sent to collections and is not on her credit report.I hope this clarifies things a bit.Melisa
