Review: On February 10, 2016, I sent a letter to OPM requesting to cancel my Life Insurance deductions from my monthly annuity. It's now over 90 days since I made the request and 10 days since I last emailed them but received NO REPLY. In the last 90 days, I have called them twice, waiting on hold 36min, the first time, only to be told they were backed up. The second time I tried to call, a few weeks later, I was informed that there would be a 45min hold before I can speak with a representative! I've also emailed 3x. Their first 2 replies were just simple apologies saying they are 'backed up.' As I said, I didn't get a reply to the last email I sent them on May 11. At no time, when I called and spoke to them, and the 3 emails I've sent them, have they acknowledged that they even received my request. They have yet to explain the delay other than to say "we are backed up"!?! 90 days plus!?! Whose job is it and how long does the annuitant (me) have to wait? If I wanted my deduction for Life Insurance canceled in February and I drop dead tomorrow, what problems is that going to cause for my spouse? I bet then they will be able to complete my request and do their job!Desired Settlement: I want my request taken care of and their Customer Service practices to be reviewed. A lot of annuitants, and many older than myself, depend on every penny of pension. It is not right that an organization can matter-of-factly delay FOR OVER 3 MONTHS, the solution to our need/s.
