Review: Bought a 2006 Ford F250 for $7000 under the premise that is was completely tuned up, breaks and all. This claim was made by [redacted], the salesman. Less than 10 miles off the lot there was a burning smell. [redacted], the [redacted] told me to bring it in to take a look. He informed me the burning was caused by lingering oil from changing the timing belt. Less than 10 miles again the breaks were burning and smoking on the NJ State Parkway. We pulled over and saw the back rotors glowing red with smoke. after bringing it back for a second time they claimed a rock kicked into the caliper causing the breaks to burn. They asked me to pay $320 to fix. I claimed the car was still under warranty but they wouldn't pay. They agreed to pay half after I complained. I needed the truck and didn't have time to bring out to another mechanic. Ive contacted several professional mechanics and all said it is impossible for a rock to cause this kind of damage in the breaks. [redacted], the salesman, claims they would not fix due to the amount of money they already spent prepping the car for sale. [redacted], the [redacted], threatened not to pay anything at all if the agreemtent wasn't going to make me happy. Therefore, I had to act happy that they were paying for half. After having the vehicle inspect by another mechanic it was determined that the break burning was caused by not properly adjusting the alleged new break pads that were installed in prep for sale. This transaction took place at the [redacted] location on [redacted].Desired Settlement: I would like to be reimbursed the $160 I paid to fix the breaks. The breaks were clearly faulty before pulling off the lot.
