Delivery arrived on time; however, driver discovered when unloading to me that a glass jar of beets had broken. Driver took blame noting he's responsible for delivery. I disagreed with him. The problem which I've encountered for at least the past 5 deliveries is how items are packed. Bread is typically crushed because it's packed with can goods. And looking at today's bags - they are jammed packed with items. The result of broken beets - 3 bags of groceries had to be rinsed under water and placed on paper towels to dry. Again, not the driver -- packers/shoppers need training. Photo below doesn't include items that required freezer or refrigerator.
I have been a customer since Peapod became available in my area which was several years ago. They used to be wonderful-very easy to reach customer support, used to have a VIP club which offered discounts and free products to customers who purchase large amounts per yearly quarter-absolutely no issues. Well has that all changed. You could not get a customer service rep on the phone if you were the president-no more VIP club and no email or call stating that this had been discontinued, out of stock items still on the website as available, something is just a little suspect right now. How can you not be able to reach customer service--oh sure there is a phone number but when you call you are told "we are experiencing higher than normal call volume and your wait will be approximately some ridiculous amount of time which is false because at least in my case, no one ever answers. There used to be a callback option-that is gone also.
This is very upsetting because they were such a great option for me as I work long hours and do not have time to stand in the grocery line but what can you do. Drivers are super nice however, thus the two stars. From reading the other reviews I see I am not alone so I hope that they either get their stuff together or they will have plenty of time to answer calls.
