Review: Pack-Rat drop off a unit for me to pack our things away but never once on the phone or when the driver drop off the unit tell us about the company policy of the month to month rental meanning the pro-rated. We never knew that you will not be refund monies not use that month. If we would had known we would not have used thier services. Most credits inform thier customer a day ahead when they are to deduct monies from thier account but not so with packrat. They deduct with informing thier customers and now I see why. When people have to rush to move out of one place into another they hope the company would be fair and honest because circumstances at time dictate what you can read and not read. Packrat should inform thier customer up front to the details of a contract so that they can make a clear choice if they want to use thier services or not. They are taking advantage of thier customers and people when the do not tell people up front about the main point of the contract. Its called good and honest customer service which they do not have. I will never use this company again and will not recommend them to anyone that's thinking about using them. You tell customers up front about the details up front and not on the tail end to rip them off.Desired Settlement: They need to refund monies not use. Why should anyone be make to pay for services not used. People are being taking advantage of. I will do all I can to see that companies like this are not aloud to make people use days not needed in order to make thier pockets fat. I will not roll over and play dead on this matter. It's not fair or right. I want back monies not used.

Review: I originally ordered a PackRat container in July 2012, which I still have. Prior to the cold vortex, the container was delivered to my current address in [redacted] but when the vortex hit, the container could not be opened, key broke off into the opening. Johnny, the warehouse manager came out after it 'warmed up' a bit and cut the lock off & replaced. Prior to that incident, the container had to be replaced b/c someone damaged the container and the door couldn't be opened (the container had to be returned to the warehouse, per the manager suggestion & the door replaced---police report on file). Had to go out to the warehouse and move my belongings from one container to another, at this time, it was moved into a smaller b/c the size I had was not available. Johnny asked 'how long' I would need the container for & informed him for at least another year or so. He then informed me at that time that the current container was/is "less than a $100 monthly." The container was redelivered and I packed the rest of my belongings in the smaller container. However, when my filled container was picked up and returned to the warehouse, the lock was cut off. Johnny called me to inform me that the lock had been cut off in error, 'thinking the container was returning empty.' He informed me that a 'key' to the lock on the container, would be mailed out to me (that was approx Feb/March) and I still haven't received a key in the mail regarding my container. I spoke with Brandon recently & he informed me that my account was closed, (account # [redacted]) but then stated the account was re-opened under ([redacted]): which I had no knowledge of until July 2014. Ryan P[redacted] attempted to charge my debit card $129, stating it was the cost of the container. I informed Ryan that I was told the new cost was less than $100, and that I never received my key or a copy of exactly how much the new smaller container would be. The cost of the original cost of the largest container was $79.00 w/insurance & warehouse storage for $19.99. I spoke with Ryan and sent an on 06 August 2014, when he attempted again to run my card for a payment asking him why. Ryan sent an email back stating the card was ran for Junes payment and that Julys payment was due on the 27th and that there is a price increase every six months (see attached email). If PackRat had sent me something in writing stating this perhaps I would have known about the price increase as well as the due date for the container which I still dont know exists or if my things are in there.Desired Settlement: I have been more than patient, with PackRat & I have also been a consistent customer of theirs since 2009. I think should send me a new contract stating specifically my due dates/exact cost (without hidden fees) will be for the next year and give me two months free, to make up for the inconvenience as well as the overcharge of $100 I was getting & the charges assessed to me for the errors made my PackRat management (ie cutting off lock etc). Im also taking my debit/credit card off the account for PackRat not to be able to use it.
