Review: I went to #1 Nails & Spa and received a shellac manicure for $30 and a $5 tip. My nails are very thin but the employee told me this would be a good option. Most shellac manicures last 2 or more weeks. After 6 days 2 nails started peeling off. I went back to the location to have them repaired. The next day 2 more nails started to peel. When I went back there for the 2nd time I was treated very rudely, told she could not do anything. I told her she should have told me the manicure would not last before she charged me $30 . She rudely said to wait but did not no how long the wait would be. I informed she I would contact the Revdex.com.Desired Settlement: $30 plus $5 tip

In regards to your letter of 6/6/13 noting product issues in the customer complaint ID# [redacted], I offer the following response. The customer entered our nail salon and asked for a pedicure. Toward the end of receiving the pedicure, the customer then showed her hands and asked if there was anything that could be done for her fingernails. After examining her thin, brittle nails, a gel manicure for $30 was suggested as a possible option. The customer was told the product sometimes does not work, but was something she and other people with thin nails might want to try at least once. If it was successful, she could continue with gel manicures or if not, return to regular manicures. The customer was also told the product worked well for some people and sometimes lasted up to 2 weeks or more. The customer chose to try the gel product and paid $30 for the service (along with the payment for the pedicure). She was happy with her pedicure and the gel manicure when she left. The customer returned to our salon six (6) days later. It appeared two of the gel nails had been picked at and peeled off but without question, we repaired them in good faith. Two days later, the customer returned with more nails showing evidence of picking/peeling. The customer was asked if she had been doing anything out of the ordinary with her hands or picking at her nails but she became upset and denied both. We offered to make the necessary repairs and asked her to wait until the services for the current clients were finished. She asked how long of a wait it would be and was very unhappy when we could not give a specific amount of time. We asked if she would like to leave her phone number so we could call her when it was her turn, but she would not and turned and went toward the waiting area. When we finished with the current clients we looked in the waiting area for her but she had left and has not returned. If the customer will return, we will make the necessary repairs. She can call ahead and make an appointment or she is welcome to "drop in" with the understanding she would be seen on a first come/first serve basis.

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. First of all, I did not receive a pedicure!! That is the first lie. I asked about the possibility of receiving a gel manicure. The employee on duty said that is what she suggested. When I returned to have the gel that had peeled off, not picked at, she did not ask me any questions and repaired them. When I returned the following day with 2 more nails, that had peeled off, not been picked off, she did not want to correct the problem. She told me to wait and when I asked how long a wait she would not give be any idea. She was rude so I chose not to stay. At no time did she ask to take my phone number and come back for a repair. I would never return to this business or recommend them to anyone. The only thing that will satisfy my complaint now is a full refund. The entire response was not truthful. All they had to do was repair the services they provided. Now they have made up their version of the situation. Very disappointed with their response. Regards,[redacted]
