1 Stop Pack-N-Ship

Review: Location claimed to provide budget trucks for rental. I reserved a 10' truck online over a month and half ago through the budget website. Last week, I received a phone call asking if I would take a cargo van. I said "no" and that I was moving my entire apartment and needed the truck. The person on the phone told me that was fine, and that my truck rental was confirmed.

The day came for me to pick-up the truck. I arrived at about 10:20am (they open at 10am) on Saturday, June 8th. I had reserved freight elevators in my respective buildings and had friends waiting to help me. The man at the register ( I believe it may have been the owner of this shop) took me to the back and told me he wanted to show me the cargo van. I became very upset, and clearly explained to him that I was moving and needed the 10' truck. There were 3 of them sitting in the back of the building. When I asked, why I couldn't have one of those, he said they were reserved for other customers! Why didn't he give one of them the cargo van? His could care less attitude made me very upset and I became frustrated and had to resort to yelling. He slammed my ID down on the counter in front of me, and told me to leave. I then apologized for yelling at him, and told him how stressful moving was and that I was unhappy with the way I was being treated. His response to me was, he could do nothing to help me and I had to call Budget. No customer service whatsoever.

I called the Customer Service Hotline, and the people at Budget were equally incompetent. They could have cared less, and told me I had to wait a minimum of 2 hours for the "inventory manager to call me." That never happened, and I was essentially left hanging. Additionally, when I told the women on the phone I would seek legal counsel, she quoted there terms and conditions about how I am not guaranteed a truck at pick-up. This is a complete scam.Desired Settlement: I was going to simply write a negative review online. However, I started calling around to local area truck rental places to find if could get a truck the same day. I could not, but what concerns me is two of the companies I spoke with told me this happens every weekend. That people who reserve budget trucks, end up calling them because the One Stop Pack and Ship place told them there truck was never returned and they had a cargo van. This is the same thing they told me. Additionally, many friends and people at work I have spoken with about, have had the same exact experience. I guess you have to know someone at Budget to actually get what you reserve!

This whole experience was absolutely outrageous, and this store should not be renting Budget Trucks if it cannot handle the customer service. I wasted a large amount of time and money, and have now had to move everything back an entire week because of this at my own expense. The store/budget should be fined for wasting peoples time and causing such a significant amount of stress and inconvenience.

The Budget customer came is to pick up a 10ft truck. We did not have ant 10ft trucks so we offered him either a van or a 16ft truck. He did not want either of these options so we told him to contact Budget customer service to see if they could locate a 10 ft truck in the area (this is common practice for Budget). The customer became angry and began yelling and cursing. At that point we asked him to leave the store. We (1 Stop Pack N Ship) are a third party dealer for Budget. We are not responsible for making reservations. Reservationa are made online or over the phone through Budget customer service. Customers are advised by Budget to call the location to verify that they have the truck you reserved. Had the customer called in advance we would have informed him that we did not have any 10ft trucks available.
