Technically, there are two comic book shops in Reading, but if you're looking for the best place to buy comics, there's really only one: 1Up CollectiblesThe other place (which shall remain nameless, but we all know who it is) is great if you want...stuffLike games, Sports Collectibles, signed photos, and old statuesThat sort of thing But for comics, they're the backup option1Up Collectibles is the place to get your comics, hands down, and has been for as long as I've lived in SeattleIt doesn't matter if you're looking for the latest release or that elusive back issue - they're likely to have it, and if they don't, they'll do their best to find itThe staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and a couple of them have been there for yearsIt's a little like Cheers without the beer; if you start going in regularly, you're sure to start recognizing some familiar facesThe front half of the store is where you'll find a lot of specialty items and games, and it's slightly messy and delightfulWander your way back to the rear half, where the cash register is, and there's the meat of the placeCurrent issues are displayed alphabetically by title, with no division for publisher, all the way around the outer walls, so you'll find the latest issue of Sandman right above where Spider-Man sitsIt makes things very easy to find, no guessing which publisher goes where - especially important since 1Up Collectibles carries one of the best selections of independent comics I've ever seen, from Abstract Studios to Image to Valiant, and everything in betweenThe graphic novel collection is extensive as well, divided by publisher and covering three or four very full bookshelves in one corner There are also some display shelves for statues and some other collectibles, and they're chock full of interesting curiosities - but the clear focus here is comicsWhether you're hunting down an old favourite or looking for something new (or even better, both), 1up Collectibles makes it easy and fun

Review: Below is the copied information regarding my order with 1up Collectibles.

#1 The order was successfully placed and the funds were taken out of my [redacted] account.

#2 Two days after the order was placed I emailed the business and requested a tracking number because I had not received anything marking items were shipped.

#3 After not receiving a tracking number, I phoned them and the gentleman answered the phone and said that one of the items he could not ship because it was damaged and he was "on the way to his store" to see if his store had one that was not broken. I asked why at least the second item wasn't shipped and he said he would get that out and email the tracking number after he went to his store to look for a replacement for item one.

#4 nothing was shipped, no email was sent, and no call was returned stating he did in fact have a replacement for the first piece.

#5 I had to call again and this time was told. that a refund was going to be credited for the first item because he did not have one and that he was that day going to ship out the remaining item. I would have an email within the hour with the tracking number.

#6 That tracking number was never sent.

#7 The order was placed on the 16th of September. The first phone call was on the 19th of September. 6 days after #6 conversation, we reported the transaction to [redacted] for a full refund.

#8 Today is 10/6/2013 and we have not received any tracking number, no shipped product, no refund of anykind.

We then checked Yelp and many many other buyers have had the exact same issue of the business not producingt product after taking a consumers money.

Review: On July 11th I ordered a product from them and when it arrived it was broken. As such I've attempted to contact them by email multiple times, I've filed claims through their customer service website, I've messaged their store on [redacted] and still I've not received any response. I'm seeking a refund as at this point I no longer wish to do business with this company. I've been stuck with a broken item worth $71.12 for nearly 5 months, I would like to be rid of it and would like the refund for this purchase.Desired Settlement: I wish to be refunded in full.

Review: I ordered a book from this business on 6/11/2014. I lived at that address until 7/31, over a month and a half after I made that order. I never received the book in the mail even though my order confirmation says that it would be sent by USPS media mail, which takes 2-8 business days. I attempted to follow up with them over the phone about my order and no one even picked up, even though I called during their posted business hours. I waited so long for them to send it to me that I could no longer file a dispute with [redacted] to get my money back.

On 9/17, I received an email entitled "Subscription and Special Order Notification" that read that the book I had ordered had "arrived" and that I may pick it up at any time. This is confusing because I never ordered to have the order held for pickup, as I do not live in [redacted] PA. This is beside the fact that I received no sign or word about this order for over 3 months.

I responded to that email multiple times and have not received a reply since. I have called them at the store, and have never gotten a person on the line. There is not even the option to leave them a message. I no longer hold any hope of getting my money back or receiving the book.

These people do not care for their customers. They took my money and never bothered to even respond to me. This is not a business. This is a scam.Desired Settlement: I hope this place gets shut down.
