Ok so where do I startI was originally quoted $for the moveMovers got there and told me its gonna be moreFrom $to $(What a HUGE difference) They gave me a discount (should I be thankful?) so the total now is $I didn't fight it as I had no choice I had to leave last FridayI was told it should only take daysIts been a week now I called Monday was told by a rude customer rep to track it online, I tracked it online I got an email the following day "LOADING STATUS"I called again was told by *** that dispatch would get in touchWednesday came no phone call so I called again I have to call times before I got somebody named *** who actually didn't hang up and let me know that it won't be here until Friday or SaturdayThe only thing I asked was give me a call Friday morning and give me a time frame because I don't want to spend my weekend waiting for deliveryI got so many important things to do than sit around and waitSure enough no phone callI texted the driver who picked up our stuff to call me I got a response of "K"I want to get compensated for the delay and if I don't have my stuff by Monday I will file a police report

DO NOT USE Number 1 Van Lines!!! BEWARE.

I used Number 1 Van Lines for a recent move- Was moving to a new apartment to start a new job in a state 6 hours away. WHAT A NIGHTMARE to work with NUMBER 1 VAN LINES.

First, whatever the sales person tells you, do not believe.
you will never hear from this person again after you put down your deposit. this person told me that the move (a 6 hour drive from our current apartment to our new apartment) would be completed in 1 day, maximum 2 days.

the beginning of the nightmare:
They tell us the pick up window is 2-4pm, and show up at 10:30 PM with no explanation. Customer service is a CALL CENTER. they don't have their own customer service. Call center is completely unhelpful "we'll call dispatch- bye" and then radio silence. finally show up at 10:30 PM, finish packing by 12:30 AM, ask to be tipped, asks for my help to find a local hotel, then leaves.

the next day:
they were supposed to deliver our furniture, bed, personal belongings, etc. at around 4-6pm. no show. nobody picks up the phone.

2 days later:
customer service call center finally picks up the phone, asks what company I'm calling about, then transfers me to dispatch. dispatch says our delivery is scheduled for the next day at 8PM

next day:
nobody picks up phone. we wait at the loading dock from 8pm to midnight. nobody shows up. we are still sleeping on the floor of our new home since we have no furniture, bed, or personal belongings.

TWO WEEKS LATER:
we are still sleeping on the floor with no furniture, and have had to go buy clothes to wear to work.

after multiple false alarms of saying they are going to deliver on X day now, and complete no shows, driver texts us that he's LOST OUR ITEMS. how do you lose an entire truckload of items? he can't locate what storage facility he has put our stuff in. WHY WAS IT EVEN IN A STORAGE FACILITY? you were supposed to deliver it the next day. tried to get in touch with anyone ANYONE in a management role...nobody exists. just customer service call center again, who has no vested interest in helping anyone, since they don't even work for this company. their reply..."we'll call dispatch." then radio silence.

THREE AND A HALF WEEKS LATER:
our stuff finally arrives. we pay them the cash balance in full before they are willing to move any boxes out of their truck and into our apartment. fine. realize that multiple glass items broken. one box completely missing. oh well. no recourse. at least we have most of our items back and we have a bed to sleep on again.

This was the worst experience I've ever had with any vendor. Please save yourself the despair and worrying about where your items are, and if you'll ever get them.

Number One Van Line, is very unprofessional! They are great to work with to get a contract after that, they won't answer call, call you back, answer emails. If you try to contact customer service you will be passed around from one person to another.

My personal items have been "waiting for loading" for over a week, no one can give me an answer if thats the truth, if it on a truck. Nothing! Cant get any answers from these people!



DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

We utilized #1Van lines to move my step-daughter from Florida to Augusta, GA. The company provided her with an estimate based upon information we provided them. All of the items that were moved were stored in a self storage facility. Everything was packed in boxes as the movers had requested.

The contents of the storage facility contained roughly 309 cubic ft of items. They quoted us on 309 cubic feet of items. However, once they loaded the truck, they increased the amount to 400 cubic ft. They said they had underbid the original estimate. This left my stepdaughter owning $483.00 more than had originally been quoted.

We know that the storage facility did not contain 400 cubit ft of items. The reason we know this is that when we rented the facility, we moved everything in there from a 10 ft U-haul truck. That truck held 402 cubit ft. The truck was not full when we unloaded it. It may have contained 350 cubit ft, but not over that.

I contacted [redacted] (who was the sales person for #1 van lines) to express our displeasure with the additional fees. She would not even call us back so I left a message. I was able to speak to another person and she said that there was nothing she could do. I even offered to split the difference with them and pay an extra $241.50, but they would not budge. In fact, one person just hung up on us all together.

If that wasn't enough, once the movers arrived in Augusta with my stepdaughters belongings, several items had been broken. My stepdaughter filed a report just as the movers instructed her to do, and to date she has had no renumeration for the broken dining room chairs.

This company is not an ethical company. The employees are certainly not customer centric and are only about the money. They do not care about the customer. I would suggest that anyone thinking of using this company please consider what I've written and proceed at your own risk. Never have I delt with movers that lacked this much honor and character.

This company should have its license revoked. This has been the absolute worst experience.
Picked up at end of May. Was told items would be in storage in Miami (near our re-lo) in 7-10 days. Was told we could access the items. Been waiting over a month and a half for item to be delivered
