101 Mobility installed a wheel chair ramp on my house for me. The next day I called them back and told them it was to steep for my mom to use also my moms physical therapist nurses and care team also confirmed and said the same things.I don't believe this ramp is an ADA complaint ramp.
To start with the length of ramp needed is always a function of the person, equipment and help if any. When I initially met with *** we did discuss how she would be using the ramp and also what the ADA requirement was. She said that she would have someone helping the mother all the time. Based on cost and having help *** chose a shorter non ADA ramp. This length was no shorter or steeper then what was done for 100’s of others with the same circumstances. I was very surprised when *** called on February 20th and complained that too steep. As I mentioned we have done this same steepness for 100’s of others and no issues. In our initial discussion I did offer to add more ramp at additional oost. *** did not want to do this and hung up the phone. I thought about it and tried to call her back to resolve with no answer.On February 21 my assistant talked to *** and here are the notes ”Called to let customer know that we can actually fix tomorrow if she would like to move forward with installing the additional 6 foot ramp. She was actually relieved and said that she would call me back”Message from March 14th not returnedMessage from March 26th not returnedMessage from April 11th not returnedAs you can see other then the initially conversation and the day after, *** has been unwilling to talk to us.I believe that this could easily be resolved this issue to everyones satisfaction if she would just return our calls. *** - PresidentC.A.P.S.
