[redacted] did purchase a 2005 Dodge Dakota from 112 Superstore Inc. on July **, 2014. [redacted] was offered a 2 year extended warranty and refused it due to the cost. [redacted] was not charged for anything besides $9,377, NY sales tax, and DMV charges. I did tell him that we generally stand behind our products 30 days. It is true that [redacted] returned with an anti freeze leak due to a broken overflow tank. We had ordered it and replaced it without hesitation. [redacted] had returned within a week with an oil drip. We had diagnosed it as a leaking rack and pinion. There is no repair available except replacing the rack and pinion in the front end. Due to the age of the vehicle, parts were not easy to remove and additional parts in the front end were damaged upon removal. We have replaced a lower steering shaft, power steering lines, a power steering pump and pulley and a reservoir at a local repair facility Medford Fast Lube. The job was done as it should have been. We also did a motor flush to allow better vehicle performance and to address any of [redacted]'s engine concerns. [redacted] came back another week later with another oil drip. I had sent him to Islip Auto and truck company in Islip to diagnose and repair. The repair shop had told me there was no way to avoid changing the oil pan. The 11 hour job was done at [redacted], and the bill was paid for by 112 Superstore. We feel we have gone well above and beyond our obligations and responsibilities. [redacted] has not paid a single cent towards all these repairs. An oil drip is not a safety issue nor effects the performance of a vehicle yet we have spent over $2,000 for the sake of customer satisfaction. We regret that there is nothing else we can do for him. [redacted] has a good running reliable vehicle and we hope he drives it in good health.

Review: I purchased a 2007 pathfinder from this business at the end of aug 2013. I drove truck home and check engine light came on and car stalled. Try had told me [redacted] was going. After getting that fixed after 3 weeks, I got stuck again and few hrs later truck just started. In November the heat broke so I took it to them for that. They blew the pressure hose out. Days after on nov. ** it broke down in a parking lot. I calked them and they said they would have it towed to shop. I called them on nov** to see what was going on. They said the computer system failed and they were ordering a new one. I waited few days , no one called me or anything to tell me what going on. To cut it short after arguing and them telling me my car would be ready nov. **, not ready then the ** then ** , etc. [redacted] from superstore 112 comes to my job (their business is right next door). And says how sorry and embarrasses he is that they had my car for 17 days. I then said we'll now they want a 200$ deductible from me. [redacted] says in front of me and two employees are you kidding , I would not make u pay it after all the trouble you been thru and for not having ur truck for 2 weeks. I will take care of it for you, not a problem. I said thank u very much and he says no problem at all I'm sooo sorry you Have to deal with this. My father then went there b/c the mechanic called and said when u pay ur deductible and a towing fee we will give u ur truck. My father asks [redacted] nicely hey can u pay the deductible so my daughter can get her truck now. He then starts yelling at my dad, screaming cursing and tossing stuff, saying I'm not paying for anything, she can pay for it I'm not giving you a dime. The [redacted] gets up n tells my dad he's right that he will pay 100$ and my dad said that's not right bc [redacted] said all of it for her troubles and they said no we r paying 100$. So now being out of my truck for 17 days, no one called me once or got back to me, after ething I had to pay 150$ when they said it was their problem and they'll take care of it. For [redacted] to even talk to my father like that is no way to run a business. I also referred someone to them in aug and they were supposed to give me a 100$ check for referral which they never given me. Let me add that the person I referred his [redacted] went after having the car off less than 2 months and they told hi. To deal with it.Desired Settlement: I would like an apology, and I would like the money they told me they would pay for my deductible

Response:

We are sorry for the inconveniences regarding the mechanical breakdowns regarding this Pathfinder. It is unfortunate that we are not able to determine future problems at the time of sale involving pre-owned vehicles. Yes it is true that the transmission was rebuilt about 1 month after purchase by TOP GEAR TRANSMISSIONS in [redacted]. We are not a transmission repair facility. The transmission and radiator repairs (both because the transmission and coolant system cross) exceeded $3600 and was paid by the extended warranty company. For the sake of good customer relations, 112 Superstore paid the $200 deductible for that repair to TOP GEAR TRANSMISSIONS, costing the customer $0. Regarding the heat being inoperative, it turned out that the coolant system had air in it which needed to be bled out. That service was performed by MEDFORD FAST LUBE for we are not facilitated to perform work on coolant systems . Once again for the sake of good customer relations, 112 Superstore paid that bill as well, costing the customer $0. Regarding the most recent repair, the Pathfinder was towed directly to MEDFORD FAST LUBE by ACTIVE TOWING not at the request of 112 Superstore. The Pathfinder was never brought to us nor diagnosed by 112 Superstore. None of the above named companies who have worked on or towed this pathfinder are affiliates of 112 Superstore and are their own entities with their own individual owners. The man who was here asking about [redacted]'s Pathfinder was asking about the deductible and expenses. I do not know that it was in fact her father. On behalf of my [redacted] who admitted to me that he had offered to "help out" with the expenses, I again for the sake of customer relations, offered to contribute $100 towards the deductible, paid to MEDFORD FAST LUBE, for a vehicle that has now been sold almost 4 months ago. I feel 112 Superstore has gone above and well beyond their responsibilities. Thank you.

[Your Answer Here]

I was told at the time that I bought the truck that if I went through them for repairs thst they would take care of the deductibles. I have broke down three times in the truck already. I only went to this dealer b/c we are neighbors. Just the way he talked to my father shows how bad service that is. I am [redacted] myself and I would be ashamed if I ever talked to a customer like that. I have witnesses that heard [redacted] say that day and the week before that if they tried to charge you a deductible you wouldn't have to worry bc I will take care of it. He said you have been through to much that I wouldn't ask you to pay for it. He said please I am ashamed that this happened to you so please don't worry about the 200$. If he never said this, then there wouldn't be a problem. But for him to tell me he is embarrassed n so sorry that I have had nothing but problems with this truck that he will help me out then turn around and decline paying for it is not a way to run the business. And my car broke down the day I drove it home and now I am aware why they made me wait 30 days for warranty co to fix it. The truck didn't run right for the first month and I told them that but they kept telling me I had to wait to have it fixed. Next time maybe they shouldvnt promise things and techincally I shouldn't have been responsible for the deductible for the tranny b/c the tranny went before the 30 days was up.

Review: I have an issue with the vehicle I bought there is absolutely no way this vehicle could have passed a New York State inspection. I bought a truck from them and after just 1 week of driving the back brakes were so bad it made the vehicle undeliverable, the front tires are bald on the inside, the tire pressure sensor light is on. And they refuse to do anything about it. I had to change the brakes so I could continue to go to work I took pictures and saved my receipts hoping they would refund the money I spent on parts that clearly couldn't pass a New York inspection. They used a shop down the road that I would have to assume just slapped a sticker on the truck and said it was a safe vehicle. This vehicle was not safe to drive and the last thing anyone needs is to have to put the vehicle they bought less than a month ago in a shop to be fixed. I went to the dealer and the guy working was impossible to deal with he fought with me gave me an attitude and completely blew me off. I asked please don't give me an attitude I'm just upset I want you guys to honor your sales pitches and word in giving me a safe vehicle he fought with me and completely blew me off. I gave the guys plenty of chances and they aren't doing anything to help me.Desired Settlement: All I ask is for them to refund me on 2 new tires and the rear brakes that I have to put on my truck in order for it to 1. Pass a New York State inspection, and 2. For it to be a safe vehicle for myself and family to drive in.

On that day [redacted] came to 112 Superstore and blocked our driveway with his Tahoe, presenting a bill for having brake work done for (approximately $450) to hour finance Manager David M[redacted] as he was closing, demanding reimbursement on the spot on that Sunday at 3:49 PM. David instructed [redacted] to call the following day to speak to the owner. I have never heard from him again. A concern for breaks was not discussed while at [redacted]e for the mirror repair, but I am a man of my word. No discussion was made of tires until days after the sale. It is only logical that pre owned vehicles would not have brand new tires. Mid grade pads and rotors would have cost me $110 because we do purchase parts, wholesale. I do not feel liable for [redacted] taking his vehicle to repair facility that charge and nearly double the average retail cost. I am willing to reimburse the amount of what my expenses would have been, $110 thank you.
