He did the job, but be ready to pay the price.
I suggest you figure out the type of lock you have so you can get a price quote over the phone rather than having the locksmith come in person.
If you chose in person, then be ready to pay for whatever price he comes out of his mouth. Unfortunately, nothing is negotiable.
If you don't like the price, then be ready to pay the driving fee of $75 or you might get the cops involved.
If the service takes longer than 15mins, then be ready for extra fees to come out of his mouth.
In conclusion, for better locksmith shopping experience, try to get a quote over the phone so you are not surprised.
A lot of reviews on Google and yelp share similar stories. I should have been more smart about my shopping experience. Specially when there are no prices in their website. It makes this business feel not transparent and untrusworth.
This is my experience and I hope you be smarter than I was.

I locked myself out of my home with my 3-year old son inside. I found this business' website, which estimated the service-charge to be approximately $100 ($55 service fee plus $45 labor). On the phone, the locksmith told me that his service fee was $75, and that the labor would be $45-150. I was told that the locksmith, who worked 10 minutes away, would arrive in 15 minutes. He arrived 45 minutes later and charged me $331 ($180 service call, $120 labor, $31 tax) for the 90 second he took opening the door. Because my son was inside, I felt I had little alternative but to pay the ransom.

I am rejecting this response because: the business owner failed to make any substantive response to the complaint. His billing methods are deceptive and unfair. I hope that my actions may help others avoid being taken advantage of in a similar way.

Sincerely

I was charged $475 plus taxes for the locksmith to come to my home at 10 pm on a Friday when my key would not turn correctly to open my door. Their prices online show that for them to drill the lock out and for them to reinstall a new lock and give me new keys, it would be $135. Over thhe phone, he did not give me a quote. When he arrived he just started working. Then he handed me forms for me to sign. I figured he just needed my name, address, license number, and phone number. I did not notice a price at the bottom, nor did he mention the price of the work until after it was completed. I feel this was unfair pricing, and the business is unfairly charging me a ridiculous amount.

My invoice after I paid shows a $75 service call fee, a $220 drill deadbolt fee, and a $180 new lock installation fee.

Here are the fees listed on their website.

Out 123 Lock and Key team will provide you with an exact written quote on site before any work is performed.

123 Lock & Key Response

Indeed I charged the customer $525 including taxThe only think that the customer was honest about in this complain was the fact that I came out for an emergency service on a Friday Night. The customer was presented with an invoice including the breakdown of the service as well as the total cost of the service BEFORE I started the job and was requested to fill up he’s information and agreement to the service and cost, this is nothing out of the ordinary, this is our policy with each and every customer. The prices he pulled from our website are correct and valid! But he forgot (or didn’t want) to include the content that comes belowI won’t get too technical but here is the situation I had on this job:The key was turning but the bolt itself was broken due to poor installation of the previous locksmith or else, I had to drill the entire deadbolt lock out of the door in order to reach the bolt and preform drilling and release of the broken bolt itself.I didn’t mention that after I finished the job the customer was telling me that he doesn’t have that kind of money to pay and I had to wait for almost an hour to get paid over the phone by he's father after he was calling friends who refused to help him.I didn’t add any extra cost for him of keeping me and my valuable time on a weekend night.I will not refund any amount to this customer.123 Lock and Key800-805-6250www.123lockandkey.com

Customer Response

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:

He never gave me a quoted price of this service over the phone. When he came to my residence, he simply started working, and handed me an invoice for me to fill my customer information. He never mentioned that the price was on the invoice. He just continued to work.

When he completed the job, he then told me what was due. When I told him that I couldn't afford the bill, he told me he needed someone to pay for it, and wouldn't leave my home. He threatened to call the police on me, and he stated he needed me to give him a $1000 valuable of mine as a form of collateral until I could pay him.

I called my father, and he helped me pay the bill. He asked my father to text him a photo of his credit card, front and back, as well as my father's photo ID. I thought this was strange, and now I'm concerned he still has my father's credit card information saved in his text messages.

This is not how a business owner runs a business. If you check his *** reviews, you can see that he badgers and bullies anyone who reviews him negatively. ***

Sincerely
