I have two lots downtown. One at 1400 Washington Ave. and one at 1401 Locust Street. On May 7th my husband and I were at 1400...

Washington Ave. lot to work it for the [redacted] Mayhem night. I had checked and dropped the honesty box before this person pulled on lot at 1401 Locust, so I know all the money in box had been dropped. There was only one monthly Parker on the Locust lot when this person parked. Usually everyone parks at the Wash Ave. lot because it is much closer to [redacted] not the Locust lot. When I noticed someone had parked on Locust, I went to the box to see if they had paid. I have a flash light I carry at all times and checked very carefully for payment. You pay by the numbered spot you are in. There was no payment for parking in the box for spot 14. There was no money at all in any of the slots because there were no other parkers on lot and I had previously dropped the box.
I am a business woman also and I know if people don't pay to park on my lot I can not make my bills. I have to ask why would a person, who indicated she came downtown often, not park at a closer lot to [redacted]. She was the only person on the lot when I checked the box. I deeply resent that I tried to squeeze anything out of her and it makes me angry that people can pull onto a lot and think they can park for free when it is empty. Why not park in a lot that is closer? Why not park on a lot that other parkers are on? Since she is familiar with downtown, she must know there should be caution taken when you are parking on a empty lot. I am a very ethical
business person and this person was not targeted, she just did not pay.
