Review: Yesterday I dropped off $500 worth of nice White Linens (2 Blankets, 2 Bath Mats, 4 Towels) to be laundered full service at my local laundromat, only to have them returned covered in black nail polish. The nail polish is neither mine, nor anyone in my family's, so I took the bag of laundry back to the employee's tonight to see if they can compensate for the damage to my linens/bedding, only to be told that it "must have been my nail polish in the dryer" (absolutely untrue), and that they did everything to remove the stains (Bleach, Nail Polish Remover, et cetera) to no avail. I thanked them for their efforts, but the linens/bedding are still ruined and I wanted compensation for the damages to replace them, which is at least $500 in value. The best they could offer, 'because they are poor workers'---is give me one free load to wash, without the owners knowing. I said that was unacceptable as we had already paid for the laundry service @ $60 that day, and one free washing was not going to fix the problem. Please Note: I had been going to this same laundromat for 3 years (every 3 weeks spending +$60 for full service, equaling about $1000 a year paid to their business), had a handful of other items ruined by bleach or items lost and turned a blind eye, but this is an extreme case in my opinion, and I was hoping they would take the responsibility to ensure my property when something goes very wrong? I will never return to this establishment, and recommend anyone who values their property and wants it laundered with some care to find another business in the neighborhood.Desired Settlement: Refund for the Damages to my Property. In response to the complaint filed on July *, 2013:

(1) Our company gives every customer notice that it is their responsibility to remove all items from their laundry and this notice was provided on the receipt we gave to the customers when they dropped off their laundry. --- It is our customary practice to ask customers to remove all valuable items in their laundry. On this notice, it specifically stated the Laundromat is not responsible for damages caused by “valuables left in goods.” Unfortunately, the complaint’s blanket was damaged from the nail polish accidentally left in one of her laundry’s pockets.

On July *, 2013, either the complainant or her husband dropped off 63 lbs laundry to our Laundromat, including their dirty clothes, blankets, towels and handbag. My worker washed her laundry in three different washing machines. After washing, we dried these laundry in three different dryer machines. We categorized the laundry by different materials so they could be dried in different temperatures.

The laundry in issued was dried in dryer machine No. 10. When we opened this dryer machine, we saw black stains on the dry machine, one bottle of nail polish in black color, and stains covered the complainant’s blankets and towels.

(2) We spent about three hours attempting to remove the stains off the laundry caused by a bottle of nail polish and the complainant’s husband acknowledged this nail polish was from his wife. --- We tried to remove the stains off the complainant’s blankets. However, our attempts did not succeed despite our efforts of trying to remove the stain one by one and used up about two bottles of nail polish remover in doing so. We then re-washed this laundry in issue. However, we still failed to completely remove these stains and had to spend hours to clean the stains left on our dryer machine. When the complainant’s husband came to pick up his laundry, we explained to him what happened and gave him this bottle of nail polish back. He acknowledged the nail polish was probably from his wife whom accidentally left it in one of the laundry’s pockets.

(3) The complainant came back to the Laundromat to unreasonably demand $500 in compensation. --- However, several hours later, the wife, complainant, came back to our Laundromat to demand $500 in compensation. She stated that bottle of nail polish was not hers. We patiently explained to her it’s our customary practice to always make sure the dryer machine was empty and clean before we put the next customers’ laundry in. My worker spent three additional hours to help mitigate the damage caused by her own nail polish. In addition, my brand-new dryer machine was also damaged by her nail polish and it took hours for my worker to partially clean up the stains on my machine. Despite all these, we still kindly offered the complainant a free “drop off” service in the future as we value our customer’s business. The complainant left the Laundromat unsatisfied.

(4) Damages caused to my brand-new dryer machine by the complainant's nail polish –-- The dryer machines in our Laundromat are only about three months old, so we have been taking great care of these machines. Therefore, as a customary practice, in both the customers’ interests and our interests, our workers always make sure the machine is empty and clean before we put the next customer’s laundry in. Unfortunately, my dryer machine No.10 is forever damaged by the complainant's black nail polish despite my workers spent hours in attempting to completely remove these stains off the dryer machine. The damages occurred to my dryer machine caused by the complainant's nail polish far exceeded the level of damage to the complainant's laundry in issue.
